Requisition Number:29798 Job Title:STATISTICIAN, SENIOR Working Title:Sr. Statistician Salary:$5,325 - $10,533 monthly Job Type:Contract Department Name:0070-EDUCATION Department Website URL:cresst.org Job Summary Statement:The Senior Statistician will serve under direction of the P.I.s and senior researcher(s) at CRESST to provide complex statistical and methodological support for evaluation, research, and/or development projects. CRESST is a large, complex national educational research and development center in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. The incumbent will assist in the design of methodology, including data collection and analytical procedures for projects; clean and manage databases; investigate and implement computer-based solutions for quantitative and qualitative data capture, management, analysis, and reporting. The incumbent participates in planning meetings with project directors of CRESST for purposes of relating educational aspects to resolve problems within the context of research studies. The incumbent will also assist in the dissemination of research results in report, publications, and at professional conferences. 1.Expert knowledge of the educational research and evaluation process, including test development and measurement theory.

2.Expert knowledge on the development of research instruments (e.g., survey scales, assessments, observation protocols), coding schemes, and scoring rubrics.

3.Expert knowledge of data collection design, for qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies.

4.Expert working knowledge of basic and advanced statistical techniques, such as correlation, regression, reliability, IRT, HLM, and SEM.

5.Expert working knowledge of statistical software and related statistical tools, such as SPSS, STATA, SAS, LISREL, EQS, and HLM.

6.Demonstrated ability to extract data using computer programs and set up, manage, and maintain databases for statistical analysis.

7.Expert knowledge of American Psychological Association (APA) and other standard formats for research publications.

17. Earned master's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, advanced quantitative methods, or a related field. Doctorate or doctoral candidate in applicable field preferred.

18. Five or more years in educational research or a related field.
