Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. For several years, Healogics has utilized iHeal as its proprietary, wound-specific Electronic Medical Record to capture patient treatment outcomes and other data. As a result, the company now maintains the largest database of longitudinal wound care outcomes in the world, with research-ready clinical data on over 1.5 million wounded patients.
Healogics is now looking for a sharp and innovative Senior Statistician who will help establish Healogics as not only the top data science group in wound care, but also one of the top groups in healthcare.
The Senior Statistician is an applied scientist with a problem-solving mindset, responsible for analyzing healthcare data, identifying patterns, and developing data-driven quantitative analysis and computational tools to leverage the iHeal database to scale the companys new Real-World Evidence service offering, operating under the name Healogics Research Services. The individual in this role is responsible for planning and executing informatics projects, reporting and interpreting quantitative results, and interacting with clients under the direction of the Executive Director, Research and Analytics.
All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.
Generate statistical analysis using structured and unstructured data to address clinical, commercial and economic research questions
Possess senior level functional knowledge of statistical modeling
Work with business stakeholders to identify needs and recommend statistical solutions
Leads research and data requirements development and document management
Execute research projects using statistical analysis
Write reports describing and interpreting quantitative findings
Extract and build analytic data tables using database and statistical programming tools
Design, execute, and maintain predictive algorithms
Performs other duties as required.
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:
Masters or PhD in health services research, statistics, math, or related field
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience working with healthcare administrative datasets, and/or electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data to build and evaluate computational models.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use programming tools such as R, Python, Stata, SAS
Demonstrable ability to write coherent statistical/analytic reports
Experience extracting and managing data via relational databases
Knowledge of computational methods including inferential statistics and machine learning
Data management and analysis
Interpretation and communication of quantitative findings
Ability to perform analysis, utilize structured and unstructured data in analytic projects and execute advanced data management and programming using statistical software
Synthesize complex or diverse information
Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills
Microsoft Office skills are required
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations when limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to build a respectful, positive, and friendly rapport with supervisors, co-workers, and internal and external customers
Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanour at all times
Effective presentation skills to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
