The Trade Desk (TTD) is committed to maintaining safe, accurate, and reliable data.

This foundation is crucial for minimizing risk and ensuring data is readily available to fuel business success. Our Trust & Safety (T&S) team plays a vital role in achieving this by providing tools, guidance, and support for regulatory compliance and data quality oversight.

In this critical role, you'll join the T&S team as a Staff/Senior Staff Product Manager specializing in Data Governance & Policy Applications. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining a robust framework that streamlines policy application across all of TTD's data.

This translates to defining clear data policy standards, overseeing quality control, managing policy-related data, and ensuring knowledge sharing within the organization. You'll collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop targeted solutions that bridge the gap between policy application efficiencies and business needs.

What you'll do:

  • Data Governance Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy for data policy applications.

    Define clear data policy standards and ensure consistent application across TTD. Partner with legal and compliance teams to stay up-to-date on evolving regulations.

  • Policy Application and Automation: Lead the development and maintenance of a centralized policy engine.

    Identify opportunities to automate policy application and improve efficiency. Work with engineers to integrate the policy engine with existing data workflows.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, data analysts, and scientists to ensure policies align with business needs, are data-driven, and effectively communicated across the organization.

  • Strategic Vision & Planning: Define the long-term vision for TTD's data governance and policy framework.

    Translate the vision into actionable product development plans and roadmaps. Prioritize product initiatives based on business value and risk mitigation.

  • Data Expertise & Innovation: Gain in-depth knowledge of TTD's data architecture and data flows.

    Stay up-to-date on emerging data management technologies and their potential impact on policy applications. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve data governance and policy compliance.

  • Measurement & Optimization: Develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness of Trust & Safety initiatives.

    Track and analyze data to identify areas for improvement in policy application and risk mitigation. Continuously refine the data governance and policy framework based on data insights

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of professional work experience in Data governance and policy application.

  • Proven ability to apply data governance best practices to build and implement solutions.

  • Deep understanding of data architectures and technologies impacting data management.

  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

  • A creative problem-solver with a collaborative mindset.

  • Proven ability to strategize across complex, cross-functional projects.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions.

Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is$149,900-$274,900 USD
