This position is for a key role within the Engineering team for Marvell's best in class ThunderX 64-bit ARMv8 Server Processor family. The ThunderX product family offers an unprecedented level of integration and industry leading SoC performance designed to accelerate adoption for Arm servers in mainstream cloud and high performance computing deployments.

Marvell is disrupting the high end server market by delivering high performance ARM processors to the industry. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our physical design team as we expand the ARM processor product line into higher frequencies and lower process technologies. The complexity of the FINFET triple pattern technology combined with the power of the latest EDA tools requires an innovator that is an experts on the EDA tools, understand the fundamentals of circuit design, aware of foundry design rules, participate in microarchitecture discussions, and have solid programming skills.

Responsibilities: Develop the methodology and implement to calculate the power of high end server class processor chips in the finfet process Analyze the power reports and work with the front end team to identify microarchitectural changes to reduce power Evaluate the switching vectors with the front end team to insure appropriate stimulus conditions are being applied used for proper analysis Create a chip power model to estimate power across PVT an work with marketing to align with customer frequency and power requirements

Prior experience with power analysis on chips in finfet process, preferably on high frequency, high power designs with multiple power domains Basic understanding of microarchitectural concepts, ability to read verilog and simulation Familiar with power saving techniques used in the physical design flow Proficiency with Spice and/or any fast simulator and hands-on power verification using spice Working knowledge of P&R implementation in finfet processes Proficiency using Perl/Python, TCL, Make scripting, calibre coding. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Education: MSEE 8+ years' experience or BSEE with 10+ years related experience

ABB is seeking a Power Systems Engineer - Microgrids for its Raleigh, North Carolina location. We are looking for a versatile and highly capable power systems engineer to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. He/she will work as part of a growing team of professionals with focus on engineering execution of microgrid system deployments in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Collaborate with customers on full project lifecycle from technical sales support, system conceptualization and design, project commissioning, and post installation support. Your responsibilities Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1.Technical contribution: Engineering and deployment of microgrid power systems for autonomous management of thermal generation, renewables, and energy storage resources. Design, testing and commissioning of battery and flywheel energy storage systems ranging from 100kW to 30MW. Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. 2.Sales support: Assists with quotations, engineering and product team to build sufficient documents responding to customer's inquiries such as RFI's, RFP's, etc.. 3.Contract management: Support in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.). Provides cost effective quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract. Ensures adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. 4.Planning and control: Creates work plans and cost estimates in one's area of responsibility. Reviews and approves scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Improves effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions. 5.Risk and opportunity management: Completes risk and opportunity assessments and ensures implementation of resulting actions in one's area of responsibility. Reports any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management along with recommendations for resolution. 6.Customer: Interacts with customers, officials, contractors and others for preliminary design of microgrid control and storage systems. Strong customer service and communication personality to support their engineering capability. 7.Supply chain management: Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed to with potential suppliers. Provides technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services. 8.Technical leadership and knowledge sharing: Coaches, provides support and technical advice to colleagues for engineering and commissioning on microgrid related projects. Maintains network of engineering professionals and share engineering best practice across different projects and disciplines. Must have excellent communications and writing skills as well as tact and professionalism working with others. 9.Processes and tools: Develops, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and tools. Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements. Reports processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests ideas for improvements. Your background Basic Qualification * Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in control systems, power systems engineering, power electronics and/or energy storage system design; OR * Master's Degree in engineering and 3+ years of experience in control systems, power systems engineering, power electronics and/or energy storage system design. Preferred Qualification * Capability in one or more of these areas is critical as the position will be required to work in a wide range of engineering subjects. * PLC programming experience in industrial, power generation or distribution environments. * SCADA system design and deployment, familiarity with Modbus, DNP, IEC 61850, and related cyber security (NERC CIP). * Engineering and/or commissioning of power electronics devices including energy storage and/or solar inverters. * Distribution system protection design and engineering, distribution level interconnection. * Familiarity or experience with renewable energy generation technologies as well as thermal generation (reciprocating engine, CHP, small turbines). * ABB's microgrid projects are often installed in remote locations of the regions we serve so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with travel and work in these remote environments. * Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.
