Sr. Staff Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in month end closing, revenue recognition, general accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and other accounting related tasks. This role will be a partner with the Controller in ensuring accurate financials and understanding of results as is relates to our American Fork location. They will also work closing with other accounting staff and business partners to ensure timely and accurate financial data is provided to support key business decisions as well as help drive process improvements.

A successful Senior Staff Accountant will be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Essential Functions Include:

• Month end closing tasks

• Balance sheet reconciliations

• Revenue recognition and review

• Perform day to day financial transactions which include verifying, classifying, computing, and posting journal entries, and assist with accounts receivable and bank activity

• Assist with flux analysis to understand results and drivers of outcomes

• Work closely with Brand managers to understand financial results and variances to budget

• Ensure payment, application and aged transactions are handled accurately in a time sensitive manner

• Review daily invoicing, credits, and re-billing done by Accounting Clerk

• Credit card expense classification

• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures

• Other accounting related tasks will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications Include:

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.

• 3+ years' experience with progressive responsibilities in accounting

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software with QuickBooks a plus. Company moving to Just Foods Microsoft Dynamics ERP.

• Consistent and reliable attendance

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
