Under minimal supervision, analyzes the company's financial records to ensure financial compliance. Responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, reviewing accounts payable and receivable postings, understanding of retail tax calculations, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Expert knowledge of Accounting Principles and familiarity with GAAP.

• Interpret company financial policies and protocols.

• Solid understanding of Accounts Payables & Accounts Receivable processing.

• Advanced financial analysis skills including ability to create complex spreadsheets.

• Review and analyzes of general ledger accounts for accuracy and consistency with strong attention to detail.

• Advised and initiates general ledger accruals and adjusting entries.

• Resolves and responds to escalated complex accounting and financial questions.

• Reconciles electronic and manual bank statements.

• Reconciles credit card transactions, research discrepancies and chargebacks, resolve customer payment issues.

• Solid understanding of the application of Sales and Use Tax in a retail environment.

• Assisting with annual Audit preparations.

• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance

• Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs and processes.

• Updates personal job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.

• Documenting and monitoring internal controls.

• Implements process improvements.

• Training and mentoring junior staff.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• This position requires a minimum of five years of accounting or finance experience required.

• Previous accounting experience in a retail environment is beneficial, Automotive experience beneficial.

• Previous general ledger experience using Quickbooks highly desired, ERP experience beneficial.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required.

• Ability to design and build spreadsheets is required.

• The ability to work efficiently under pressure, accurately meet deadlines and present a professional demeanor is essential.

• Ability to work independently and in a team, multi-task, and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines simultaneously is required.

• Customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude are essential.

• Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect, and upholding Company values are key attributes. In addition, organizational and problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. Master's in Accounting is beneficial.
