DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for helping customers succeed by adopting and building the most efficient compute architectures such as, scalable, and highly-available yet cost-effective architecture on the cloud, leveraging EC2 Graviton instances, Spot Instances, and Autoscaling Groups.

As an EC2 Efficient Compute Solutions Architect (SA), you will partner closely with the engineering, business development, and technical field teams to drive the enablement and adoption of AWS Graviton based EC2 instances and Spot Instances. You will develop white papers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to understand and leverage the value of Efficient Compute architectures. As a Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how customers create and consume cloud services at a scale not seen before. As a technical expert in the field specialist team, you'll be at the tip of the spear for technology thought leadership and implementation with major customers across a broad array of EC2 Engagements.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a deep understanding of cloud, use cases, architectures, workflow and ecosystem. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a Solutions Architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. AWS Graviton powered instances provide the best price performance and support a wide range of computing workloads including application servers, microservices, high-performance computing (HPC), CPU-based machine learning (ML) inference, video encoding, electronic design automation, gaming, open-source databases, and in-memory caches. Thousands of customers, including Epic Games, DIRECTV, Intuit, Lyft, and Formula 1 are running production workloads on AWS Graviton powered instances with significant performance gains and cost savings. Amazon EC2 Spot Instances let you take advantage of unused EC2 capacity in the AWS cloud and are available at up to a 90% discount compared to On-Demand prices. You can use Spot Instances for various stateless, fault-tolerant, or flexible applications such as big data, containerized workloads, CI/CD, web servers, high-performance computing (HPC), and test & development workloads.

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems. Do you enjoy solving novel and unique technical challenges for customers? Become an AWS Specialist SA!

Key job responsibilities

  • Continuously build personal expertise across a wide range of AWS services and reference architectures while providing thought leadership to customers and partners

  • Share your technical knowledge broadly by participating in one-to-few and one-to-many sessions with larger groups of customers and partners.
