What You Will Achieve

The Sr Specialist, Operational Excellence is responsible for supporting the global implementation of Pfizer Performance System (OpEx) and the Pfizer Production System (IMEx) at the Rocky Mount Facility. Including working with Operational Excellence Deployment Leads, and employees at all organizational levels to lead the development and instillation of continuous improvement concepts and IMEx individual Elements throughout the organization. This individual will run the training, implementation and coaching of site-specific production system tools (Visual Management & Meeting Cascade, CI Loop, Standard Work, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Process Robustness, etc….), through IMEx PCT Qualification. Additionally, this individual will support Pfizer's root cause analysis program (Method 1) Yellow Belt, and (Method 2) Green Belt.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead Continuous Improvement and root cause analysis Events Method 1 (Yellow Belt) and Method 2 (Green Belt) events, data analysis, lean and/or six sigma project management.

  • Be knowledgeable of all IMEx elements and be able to effectively teach, coach and implement the elements to others, and partner with OpEx Leads during IMEx Deployments.

  • Assist with the implementation of the IMEx Elements within as assigned ecosystem.

  • Provide post-deployment shop floor support, and assist in the successful implementation of IMEx elements through participation in workshops.

  • Act as site resource for Continuous Improvement, Visual Management, GRP-TPM and Standard Work element standards.

  • Reinforce cultural changes necessary to ensure successful implementation.

  • Collaborate with other PCT members and Element Owners on identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Utilize data to influence project prioritization.

  • Work with PCT Lead, IMEx Deployment Lead, CI Specialists, Tier 1 Element Owners, Operational Excellence and Area Leadership to build, maintain and improve IMEx within the work area.

  • Capturing timely and accurate data when required.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience OR an associates degree with 6 years of experience OR a bachelors with at least 3 years of experience OR Masters with more than 1 year of experience.

  • Prior lean six sigma application experience

  • Some knowledge of program and project management in support of Lean, Enterprise Excellence, Six Sigma, quality improvement, and similar initiatives.

  • Good oral and communication skills.

  • Ability to understand the human element of site transformation activities.

  • This position could require frequent time in the manufacturing areas around production equipment and may also require weekend or off-shift work to support project demands and timelines.

  • The candidate must have ability to balance multiple priorities.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Job will include standing, walking, sitting, ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and data analysis.

Occasional lifting may be required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This is a 1st Shift

  • Monday to Friday 8-5pm Position with support to 2nd and 3rd shift production. Job may require occasional weekend/evening work supporting a 24-hour/7-day operation.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $78,000.00 to $130,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
