Summary:

The Senior Environmental Specialist provides support to Operations Environmental Compliance, Engineering, and Regulatory personnel to ensure compliance with all environmental requirements and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The position will be responsible for air quality permit application preparation for various Energy Transfer projects, including preparation of Title V, Standard Permit, general permit and Permit-by-Rule (PBR) type authorizations.

  • Assist with preparing various state annual emissions inventories in both paper and electronic formats.

  • May support operations in many other environmental permitting and compliance areas, such as water and waste permitting.

  • The position will involve reviewing and analyzing local, state, & federal laws and regulations and applying analyses to specific projects.

  • Other duties may include environmental database design/management and participation in environmental trade groups and conferences.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental or Applied Sciences or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

  • 8+ years' experience in the environmental compliance profession with emphasis in air quality.

  • Strong understanding of Federal air quality regulations as well as Texas, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico state air regulations required. Detailed knowledge and understanding of air quality regulations and how they apply to the natural gas midstream, crude oil & finished products transportation sector, and NGL processing industries is desirable. Knowledge of the air regulations in other states is a plus.

  • The ideal candidate would possess working knowledge of New Source Review and PSD/NNSR Permitting.

  • Must have experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, BR&E ProMax, BREEZE TankESP, and/or other simulation software.

  • Must possess strong troubleshooting, problem solving, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage workload independently and deliver timely and accurate results.

  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work and adaptable to changing due dates.

  • Able to coordinate several projects and communicate well with various operational, commercial, and engineering groups while driving continuous improvement.

  • Must have the ability to work with little supervision and to interact with all levels of management.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office working conditions and occasional field work

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
