The Solutions Architect position at IGT is a dynamic and challenging role requiring a unique hybrid of skill sets ranging from highly technical, to extremely professional. The technical aspects of the role require the selected individual to design, configure and troubleshoot all areas of enterprise technology with a specialized focus in virtualization, relational databases, network infrastructure and hyper converged concepts. Functional knowledge of software defined networking, storage virtualization, containers, automation, and orchestration would also be required.
On the professional skill front, the selected individual must be able to clearly present complex solution designs to a variety of customers ranging from IT administrators and engineers to C-Level or IT Executives. The capability to articulate technology design concepts either verbally or via PowerPoint presentation is a must.
The ability to communicate with all internal stakeholders in the design and deployment of IGT products, including System Engineers, Sales Executives, Project Managers, Customer Success Managers, and Software Developers is paramount. The ability to conduct a detailed technical analysis of a customer IT infrastructure, followed by a comprehensive report of findings detailing project or technical risks is also required. First Year Goals Will discuss on the first day. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technology related field or relevant combinations of education and experience
Minimum of 7 combined years of directly related work experience in a system engineering, quality assurance, database administration, IT or a related support capacity
Ability to professionally articulate design concepts during customer Sales Demos, presentations, or trade shows
Ability to conduct load and performance testing of new solutions followed by the creation of comprehensive reports detailing the results
Must be able to explain, provide justification, and defend solution design concepts when required
Should act as a mentor to System Engineers in regards to solution deployment as it pertains to infrastructure or hardware
Participate in customer major incident events and acting as a subject matter expert regarding infrastructure and hardware escalations
Expert level knowledge of designing Microsoft & deployments encompassing versions Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2016
Expert level knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificate authority, and network load balancing using both proprietary and open source technologies
Understanding of design concepts for various Linux distributions
Expert level knowledge of installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server. Other relational database experience is a plus (MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
Expert level knowledge of virtualization concepts specific to the installation, configuration and troubleshooting VMware is required. Experience with other hypervisors (Hyper-V, AHV) is desired
Expert level proficiency in network design concepts, including the ability to detail how various network topologies integrate with the proposed IGT solution
Understanding of all major network vendor offerings and how they integrate with IGT technology including Cisco, Brocade, Dell, Juniper, SonicWall, and Check Point
Proficiency with Nutanix is desirable, knowledge of other HCI technologies such as VxRail is a plus
Functional knowledge of Docker containers, orchestration engines, and automation
Functional knowledge of public cloud providers including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
Expert level knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery concepts with the ability to design technical outcomes incorporating high availability and designated levels of up-time Preferred Qualifications
