Siri Home Automation is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager who brings a passion for connected home technology to lead our team as we advance Siri's capabilities whilst delivering intuitive and delightful experiences to millions of customers.

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience

  • 5+ years of building and managing engineering teams

  • Passionate about home automation and connected devices

  • Proven track record of architecting and operating performant scalable distributed services

  • Demonstrated ownership of large cross-functional and multi-team projects

  • Direct experience managing project status and expectations with stakeholders

  • Proven technical leadership, hiring, education, and team mentorship

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills


In this role you will be responsible for managing the Siri Home Automation engineering team, product capabilities, and infrastructure. You will contribute to our roadmap, platform strategy, resource planning, and own feature delivery.

Operations-focussed, you practice reliability engineering and will set a high bar for maintaining the robustness of Siri Home Automation end-to-end. You shall be experienced in making data-driven decisions and exhibit a strong desire to continuously improve our customer experience that impacts millions of homes around the world.

You will foster relationships across Apple and facilitate communication between cross-divisional groups whilst partnering with HomeKit, Siri Platform, Understanding, Tooling, Conversation Design, and other engineering teams to champion features that enable compelling and intuitive end-user experiences.

You should feel comfortable communicating project status to leads and executives, presenting in program sponsorship reviews, and be proficient giving product demos.

As a Siri Engineering Manager, you will blend the latest machine learning technologies at Apple with exceptional conversational and product design, and take Siri Home Automation to new grounds.

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

What You'll Do: You will join the Timelines Quality team and lead a world-class team of Machine Learning and backend engineers. We're looking for a hands-on, technical manager with a real passion for working on user-facing products. The ideal candidate would be equally comfortable guiding the development of models to rank tweets and predict engagement, whiteboarding new product ideas with designers and product managers, or brainstorming ways to efficiently index and serve tweets with systems engineers.
