The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Senor Software Engineer-SharePoint.
As an integral member of the Corporate Application Development team, exercises responsibility for the design, development, implementation and support of mission-critical SharePoint Solutions. Develops global-scale SharePoint solutions utilizing the latest technologies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Works with business stakeholders, business leaders, and subject matter experts from cross-functional teams, to gather and document solution requirements to meet business needs. Uses those requirements to design, develop, test and implement SharePoint solutions that align with the goals of the organization. Implements and customizes UHS intranet portals, content management sites and web-based collaborative workspaces. Assists IS Leadership with the overall technical strategy, direction, and support for the organization's SharePoint environment including maintenance and upgrades while ensuring the overall availability, reliability, performance and security of the SharePoint infrastructure.
Provides day-to-day maintenance and support of the SharePoint Portal environment; provides guidance and support for facility and Corporate intranets; serves as the subject matter expert for large scale SharePoint deployments; and manages the administration, enhancement, maintenance and overall health of the UHS SharePoint portal.
Key Responsibilities include:
Designs, develops and configures custom SharePoint applications that include document management, automated workflow, collaboration, messaging, content management, web parts, workflow features, custom forms, and other custom functionality.
Implements out of the box SharePoint capabilities such as custom site solutions, custom web parts, and custom content types.
Develops, configures and supports SharePoint sites for Corporate and facility intranets, team sites, and other collaboration work spaces.
Develops basic and advanced SharePoint artifacts, including (but not limited to) web parts, custom fields, custom lists, views, and content types, sites and sub-sites, lists, and libraries.
Provides SharePoint administration, development, customization, system documentation, and support of customer requests.
Administers site collections and site collection security, configures site collection features.
Troubleshoots functional and technical incidents occurring within SharePoint. Provides support to diagnose SharePoint related issues and performs root cause analysis.
Maintains the UHS SharePoint farms and site collections; responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upgrades to collections of enterprise-level SharePoint Servers ensuring overall reliability and availability.
Plans, designs and executes SharePoint upgrades and migrations.
Researches Microsoft best practices, and recommends the approach for applying hot fixes, patches, cumulative updates, and service packs that meet security and functionality requirements.
Maintains and coordinates SharePoint backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Manages end-user accounts, permission and access rights in accordance with policies and best-practices while maintaining privacy and security standards.
Recommends and creates policies for SharePoint governance and administration.
Mentors and develops SharePoint expertise within the user community.
Takes personal initiative to identify, analyze, resolve and deliver solutions for problems and opportunities concerning SharePoint.
Performs other duties related to SharePoint development, administration, and production support as needed.
College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
At least 5-8 years' experience with advanced knowledge and in-depth understanding of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, including SharePoint 2016.
Minimum 5 years working with the SharePoint Platform in an engineering and administrative capacity.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with out-of-the-box SharePoint site configurations including site collections, sub sites, lists, and libraries.
Experience with developing SharePoint Out of Box solutions as well as custom features.
Experience with developing business process and solutions using SharePoint Designer and Workflows.
Experience with custom workflows, Business Intelligence dashboards, Site collections, Sub sites, Master Pages, Lists, Custom Lists, SharePoint Designer and Web Parts.
Comprehensive knowledge of SharePoint system application implementation, enhancement, support methods, and change control processes.
Direct experience implementing and supporting Microsoft SharePoint based solutions.
Experience with maintaining SharePoint Farms with custom solutions, workflows and web parts.
Support the installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of servers, equipment, and software related to SharePoint infrastructure.
Experience with SharePoint Unified Logging Service (ULS) including how to set up ULS logs and how to effectively review the data.
Experience architecting, installing, implementing, troubleshooting, maintaining and upgrading SharePoint farms and solutions.
Experience with deploying SharePoint Server hotfixes, updates and service packs.
Experience with planning, designing and executing SharePoint upgrades and migrations.
Experience supporting claims and forms-based user authentication.
Proficiency in SharePoint Architecture.
Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell is preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL and reporting tools is a plus.
Familiarity with SharePoint Online and Office 365 is a plus.
