Role Overview

Sr. Software Engineers demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies within a particular application or product suite. This person will not have direct supervisory responsibility, but will function as a highly skilled technical resource or lead. Will design and develop technical solutions that satisfy business requirements for function, performance, security, and maintainability. They perform all phases of systems analyses and design and are typically assigned the largest and most complex applications. Sr. Software Engineers assume responsibility for converting business designs to technical designs, including all the internal components that make up a complex application. Sr. Software Engineers define the application's objective and overall scope. This individual will develop inclusive technical models/designs and write functional design specifications or enhancement documentation from which detailed technical specifications and programs can be written. Sr. Software Engineers lead and actively participate in system requirement reviews, technical design reviews, process modeling, object modeling, and data modeling for their assigned project.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the team

  • Coordinate project deliverables

  • Participate in design, creation of application services and conduct code reviews

  • Build and maintain systems with ASP.NET / MVC / C# / SQL Server (2008+) / WCF Services / Web API / JSON / SOAP / SAML / Front End Technologies ( HTML / CSS / JAVASCRIPT)

  • Design and build architecture, components, and customizations for applications from controller-level to UI

  • Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, interaction designers, and back-end engineers to develop reusable and scalable components/libraries.

  • Research, implement, and communicate clear standards and best practices for front-end engineering.

  • Research new technologies, develop prototypes, provide training classes / materials, and lead their integration into existing applications.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Post graduate from a reputed institute

  • Eight (+) years' experience as a developer

  • Five (+) years' experience with ASP.NET/C#.NET, with knowledge of both Web Forms (aspx) and MVC architectures (MVC preferred)

  • Five (+) years working with SQL Server (2012/2016 preferred)

  • Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA)

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)

  • Previous integration experience with JSON(P) and restful based services

  • Experience with building accessible (WCAG) sites with heavy interactivity

  • Strong command of web standards, CSS-based design, cross-browser/device compatibility (including supporting browsers as old as IE8).

  • Understanding of security protocols; Token based authentication, Web Forms Security and user authentication

  • Working knowledge of resolving security vulnerabilities (SQL Injections, XSS and XLRF)

  • Working knowledge of resolving application performance issues in data and middle tier

  • Automated unit testing experience; Background of TDD (Test Driven Development)

  • Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components.

  • Must be a self-starter with a passion to stay current with the newest online technologies

  • Proven abilities to grow professionally with a small, focused, development team in a fast-moving startup

  • Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking

  • Experience working with Offshore teams

  • Excellent communication skills, Proactive, Assertive, Great attitude

  • Should have excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization, external customers and vendors

  • Ability and Willingness to learn AND APPLY proprietary development tools and development methodologies

Desired Skills

  • HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3 coding skills with the ability to solve highly complex challenges

  • Production experience using frameworks like Angular Knockout as well as libraries like JQuery, RequireJS, and UnderscoreJS

  • Knowledge and experience with HTML5 to native mobile (and tablet) applications
