Medidata is looking for an experienced server-side software engineer to design, enhance and implement new features and functionality in Medidata's Central Monitoring product. As a Senior Applications Engineer you will have the opportunity to work as an individual contributor and develop quality software.Design and enhance features for a large-scale service environment with a focus on performance, scalability, quality and extensibility
Develop software applications and associated artifacts such as unit tests, installation programs and test automation code
Apply good technical practices such as re-factoring, continuous integration, test automation, source code control and review
Provide diagnostic support and bug fixing for software applications
Provide technical guidance, training and support to other engineers
Follow Medidata's Standard Operating Procedures to ensure all software meets regulatory and company requirements
Work with Agile team members, particularly Software Quality Assurance and Product Management, to write clear, concise and comprehensive feature files
Participate in Agile working practices such as daily scrum meetings, sprint planning meetings, reviews and retrospectives
Share your knowledge and experience with a highly motivated and collaborative team in regards to code reviews, software designs as well as all other engineering and business aspects
Proven technical leadership regarding feature design, enhancement and implementation within a single instance multi-tenant service environment
Significant experience in working on large scale Python, C/C++ or Java projects in enterprise environment.
Experience working with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Good understanding of SOA application architecture
Practical experience in using Databases (Postgres, Oracle etc...).
Experience with TDD and BDD.
Demonstrated experience in producing quality software
Sound understanding of source control and deployment
Your Education & Experience:
4+ years of experience with relevant programming technologies, such as Java, Python, C++, C# with sound database skills
2+ Years of experience with AWS cloud is preferred.
Experience working with Agile methods such as Scrum preferred
Four-year college degree preferred; major in computer science, information systems or life sciences a plus
