Develops mobile client software and SDKs. Supports software design,

implementation, debugging, troubleshooting, installation and operations. A Senior

Software Engineer (SSE) is able to design and build a wide variety of software

subsystems and components efficiently and effectively, given high-level requirements

specifications and constraints. A SSE is able to develop and sustain these subsystems

and software components in complex, multi-vendor, multi-platform environments. A SSE

is expected to make independent decisions, and take ownership of key aspects within

all phases of the development process for a given software component, or new feature

of an existing component. These phases include detailed requirements gathering,

design, coding, testing, and customer support, and typically involve the need to

collaborate and negotiate with other members of the engineering and product

management teams. Demonstration of initiative and the ability to work independently

during all of these phases is crucial

  • Develops software systems and services using agile software development

processes using the provided use cases and requirements; conferring with

Product Management and other functional groups within Skyhook

  • Determines operational feasibility in discussions with Development Operations

(DevOps) by evaluating impact of installations and long term operations

  • Interact with software architects, principle software engineers or other technical

leaders to understand performance requirements and recommend

implementations to meet or exceed those requirements

  • Documents designs and performance in Confluence
  • Updates job knowledge by keeping up with modern development tools,

programming techniques, and computing infrastructure; participating in

educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining

personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Support management of the teams technical infrastructure (e.g. Git repository,

build system, testing system, Jira ticketing systems, Confluence documentation

tool, others) under guidance from technical leadership.

  • Protects Skyhook Intellectual Property by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes engineering mission by completing additional tasks as needed.
  • Supports and develops other software engineers by providing advice, coaching

and educational opportunities

  • BS in engineering, computer science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mobile development, and 7 years of general
  • software development experience

Skills/Qualifications for Specialty:

  • In depth knowledge of Java, C, and C++ and their use in battery efficient and

highly performant mobile clients

  • Capable of designing and building applications for Android. Working knowledge

of associated development tools.

  • Experience with Kotlin and Objective C is a plus
  • Familiarity with Android library (AAR) distribution process through Maven
  • Good working knowledge of common Git workflow/branching strategies
  • Experience using principles of Test Driven Development (TDD)

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2021 12:00:00 AM 2022-02-09T00:00 Title Software Engineer (Cloud, Microservices, Blockchain) Overview of Position Change Healthcare is looking for a well-rounded and versatile Software Engineer to work with a team of AWS Cloud Engineers on our Realtime Settlement system. This role will be responsible for design, development, test, deployment, and operation of distributed software systems and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions in the AWS cloud. You will be working with a team as a contributor willing to grow and become an advocate for lean/agile and DevOps practices, including test driven development, continuous integration and delivery, and engineering best practices. This role will work with architects, other engineers, product and program managers in an Agile/SCRUM environment to deliver the requested features and improvements to the software. This role will focus on greenfield engineering of the Realtime Settlement system using disruptive technologies such as distributed ledger and smart contracts. The space is complex and challenging as we are a startup in a larger organization. We work in small, agile, geographically distributed scrum teams. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? * Contribute to the development of a market changing real-time claim settlement system leveraging an evolving set of languages and technologies including Java, Javascript, Go, Python, Rust, and AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, Fargate, S3, Kinesis, and AppMesh. * Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. * Demonstrate strong drive to learn, and be an advocate for development best practices (TDD, code reviews, continuous integration, work in small batches, etc.). * Communicates proactively and effectively with team members and other stakeholders in a highly Agile environment. * Self-starter who will take tasks and accomplish them with little oversight. * Strong background in modern languages such as Java, distributed systems development, REST web services, relational databases, and microservices. * Experience with GIT, GitHub/Lab, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence. * Demonstrated technical experience as an engineer - cloud-based experience preferred. * Demonstrated initiative with learning new technologies, such as AWS cloud-native services. What are the requirements needed for this position? * 3+ years of software engineering experience preferably in an Agile environment. * BS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. * Strong technical credentials, including hands-on cloud solution experience. * Mastery of the tools of the trade, including familiarity with modern cloud computing, agile development, automated testing, and development best practices. * A track record of project delivery as a contributor to large, cross-functional projects. * Ability to breakdown requirements into stories and provide estimates, perform code reviews, raise technical bar, identify risks and create documentation. * Experience in agile/scrum methodologies, DevOps, and software development lifecycle. * Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
