Provides subject matter expertise and a high level of internal consulting support on the analysis, design, programming, debugging, modification, and maintenance of software enhancements and/or new products. Senior Software Engineer for U.S Food and Drug Administration, Biologics Effectiveness and Safety (BEST) Initiative.


General responsibilities/

Qualifications:
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements.

  • Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation.

  • Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.

  • Estimate software development costs and schedule.

  • Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.

  • Supervise software configuration management.

  • Prepare cost-benefit, AoA, ROI analyses to help management determine project feasibility.

  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence technologies such as Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in related field with 10 years of experience.

  • Prefer Masters plus 4 years of experience, or Doctoral level plus at least 2 years of experience. Graduate degree may in some cases be substituted for work experience requirement.

  • Prefer supervisory and management experience on projects, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous complex and time-critical activities simultaneously, including technical/data processing support activities.

  • Excellent oral and written skills
