We are seeking a Sr DevOps Software Engineer in our Minnetonka, MN office.
The Platform Engineering team at Digital River is responsible for designing, developing and automating various service-oriented tools and platforms. These include external e-commerce services, as well as internal service-oriented platforms to support various business groups. It is also the last line of defense for troubleshooting and technical issue resolution. Its members work closely with other developers, DBA's, storage engineers, network engineers, and client-facing solution architects to deliver novel products in order to meet the evolving needs of the business and our clients.
The Sr. DevOps Software Engineer reports to a Technical Manager and is responsible for working with other engineering staff in Cloud Engineering, Architecture, and Development to implement and maintain high-availability and high-performance technical solutions.
What You'll Do:
Gather requirements and lead technical projects, coordinating closely with other senior engineering staff and technical stakeholders to manage dependencies and deliverables.
Adhere to published standards documents and procedures and work to incrementally improve those documents and procedures.
Contribute at a high level of quality to technical projects. Contributions include but are not limited to:
Leading development efforts around internal tooling to facilitate automated platform builds
Developing and deploying operational process automation
Participate in QA validation of new platforms or tools, including generating test cases and test harnesses and participating in performance testing.
Participate in platform hand-off to operations teams, which can include:
Generate operational procedures
Conduct training sessions
Implement and document platform monitoring and remediation
Tier-3 troubleshooting for application components and system interactions
Participate in backup on-call rotation ~2 weeks per quarter
Adhere to corporate policies regarding PCI and SOX compliance
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems, including provisioning, file system management, performance tuning, and security
Advanced knowledge of OS toolset (system performance monitoring and management tools)
Advanced knowledge of one or more modern scripting languages (perl/php/ruby/python)
Functional knowledge of modern software engineering/delivery concepts (SOA's, 3rd platform, agile practices, etc)
Demonstrated success in automating various deployment processes
Functional understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
Basic understanding of enterprise storage
Basic understanding of enterprise networking
Basic knowledge of statistics and mathematics
