SafeAI is a pioneering leader in the development of self-driving car technology in mining and construction scenarios. Our mission is to create safer, more efficient worksites through cutting-edge autonomous vehicle systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in embedded systems to join our dynamic team and contribute to the advancement of our autonomous driving platform.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ embedded software modules for various aspects of our self-driving car system, including sensor drivers, data pre-processing, algorithm deployment, etc.

● Optimize code for efficiency, reliability, and scalability to meet performance requirements in real-time and resource-constrained environments.

● Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards and best practices within the software team.

● Debug and troubleshoot software issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure the stability and robustness of our software stack.

● Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, and apply relevant advancements to our development process.

● Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for automotive embedded software development, such as ISO 26262.

● Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including, software, hardware, integration, and QA, to define software requirements, and implement feature enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

● 2+ years of professional experience in software development.

Proficiency in C++ (C++11, 14, or 17) programming languages, with experience in embedded Linux environments.

● Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures, including microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.

● Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

● Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

● Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), multi-threading, and concurrency concepts.

● Experience in networking and CAN communication protocols, such as DDS, QoS, CAN, Ethernet, etc.

● Knowledge of GPU architectures, and CUDA programming.

● Knowledge of automotive safety-critical systems and functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262 and ASIL requirements.

The base salary range for this position is $130K-$180K per year. SafeAI's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
