We're looking for a dynamic, people-oriented, highly analytical Senior Software Engineer to join our Distribute software development team at Pattern HQ. This is a full-time role that will work a hybrid schedule from our offices in Lehi, UT.

What is a day in the life of a Senior Software Engineer - Distribute?

• Work with product and development teams to create software solutions

• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications

• Design and implement continuous integration and deployment

• Problem-solve with alternative approaches and in consultation with stakeholders

• Work as part of a team, encourage innovation and best practices

As part of the Distribute team, you will build software that is used to:

• Receive, track, audit, and ship inventory in warehouses worldwide

• Support new and changing warehouse processes

• Prepare inventory to send to fulfillment services (Amazon FBA, Walmart WFS)

• Integrate with fulfillment services

• Solve problems that arise in our warehouses

What will I need to thrive in this role?

• 3+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Design using any language like Ruby, Python, PHP, Java, .NET, etc

• Strong experience with ORM (Object Relational Mapping) tools

• Strong SQL skills and relational database experience (Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, etc)

• Solid understanding of REST concepts

• Experience working with a cloud operations platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)

• Understanding of object-oriented design patterns

• Working knowledge of standard frontend languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

• Experience writing integration and unit tests

• Proficiency with Git

What does high performance look like?

• You have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

• You have experience collaborating with overseas teams

• You have 2+ years of proven work experience in web frameworks like Ruby on Rails

• You have experience writing JavaScript

• You have experience with cloud data warehousing services such as Snowflake or Redshift

• You have experience with asynchronous background jobs (Sidekiq, Celery, etc)

• You possess a solid understanding of messaging concepts and technologies (SNS/SQS, Active MQ/RabbitMQ, etc)

You will work with the other Software Engineers and be supervised by the Director of Engineering on the Distribute team.
