We will consider mid-level to senior professional experience for this position. We are also exploring a Lead and Manager position of the same hands-on profile.

We seek a SDET to support the quality activities being performed within PlayStation's R&D throughout the software creation process. Here, you will develop automation scripts and test state-of-the-art audio, video, graphics and SDK projects. The work you would do would ensure the highest software quality on the PlayStation platform. If this is you, please apply!


  • You are passionate about developing test plans, test cases, and analyzing test coverage for assigned projects.

  • Program in Python and C++ to craft and optimize test automation scripts.

  • Execute both automated and manual test suites, maintain the bug database to identify, track and analyze issues.

  • Build an in-depth knowledge of all PlayStation Audio, Video and Graphics knowledge.

  • Generate test reports for tasks performed.

  • You will strive to apply real world applications to improve ongoing testing coverage.

  • Research current testing methodology and apply new methodology and process to current testing process.


  • You should possess a min. 2 years' experience programming with both C++ and Python.

  • Min. 3 years' QA experience dedicated to test design and development.

  • Continuous Integration systems with Buildbot or Jenkins.

  • Past experience with a passion in developing testing tools.

  • You should have clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently or with development team.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields.


  • Game content creation pipeline and DCC Tools such as Maya and ZBrush.

  • Familiarity with Unreal, Unity, or other game engine technology.

  • Experience with Game Audio and Video is desirable.

  • Experience with 3D graphics API experience.

The Software Development Engineer has advanced in-depth software programming and technical expertise in several disciplines or product lines. The SDET leads complex tests, tools design, development and white box testing. Analyze complex code changes for developing test strategy across several products in a highly efficient manner using innovative approaches. The SDET Participates in software architecture design. What will I be responsible for in this job? (brief summary of the role) * Leads or conducts complex technical analyses to design and implement test software (unit test/automation) for software applications, system architectures, framework or software test tools that achieve desired functionality for several products, systems and software applications * Leads or develops innovative software engineering / technical solutions and designs that meet design specifications and that may result in software engineering advances in features and functionality of CHC products * Solves or leads the solution of software engineering / technical problems in creative, highly resourceful and effective ways * Decisions and actions often influence the work of other team members, other teams, some management decisions and some business processes or customer outcomes Often participates in and reviews software project estimates Specific Accountabilities * Designs, codes, unit tests, white box tests, debugs software and writes or participates in code documentation * Participates in a few assigned tasks comprising software test engineering for projects from products and customer requirements to functional specifications to coding to unit testing and debugging to software acceptance and release * May collaborate with development in the design of products to ensure instrumentations are in place allowing to automate the testing and, more in general, to analyze the testability of the software * Participate in code coverage/test coverage analysis to increase test coverage * May participate in software design reviews Participates in contributing or contributes to new and modified software test designs and semi-complex software "fixes" Role-In-strategy * Through participation in the completion of assigned projects, contributes to the achievement of the projects of the Engineering department Through participation in the completion of assigned aspects of projects, supports the achievement of assigned projects of the Engineering department * Adheres to software engineering standards * May contribute IP to CHC patent portfolio What are the requirements? * Years of experience: 5+ years experience * Education: Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience * Physical requirements: General office demands What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position? * Experience designing, coding and writing test cases. * Experience with Automating test cases * Experience working with developers to debug software and writes or participates in developing documentation * Experience participating in code coverage/test coverage analysis to increase test coverage * Experience conducting semi-complex technical analyses to design and implement test software (unit test/automation) for software applications. * 1 to 2 years of experience leading a team What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? * Experience with Agile processes / SCRUM / sprints etc. * Understands and drives improved processes to software engineering standards * Participates in contributing to new and modified software test designs and semi-complex software "fixes" * Experience collaborating with development in the design of products to ensure instrumentation are in place allowing to automate the testing and, more in general, experience analyzing the testability of the software. * Experience participating in software project estimates * Executes semi-complex software engineering and technical assignments that involve advanced analysis, programming, evaluation and white box testing.
