Mandatory skills

Java, Spring /Struts, REST or SOAP, Websphere (preferred) or Weblogic or JBoss, ReactJs, TypeScript, JavaScript

Preferred skills

Ecommerce, Database experience (DB2, Oracle ,SQL), Git, Azure, NextJs

Communication Skills

  • Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, work with architects to come to an agreed technical approach, and lead development efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with or lead cross-functional teams with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to drive consensus within a team and influence outcomes in significant technical decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to work with different business groups as well as IT partners (enterprise architects, vendors, etc.)

  • Attention to detail and organization in all aspects of the system development along with a solid understanding of the customer need.
  • Ability to understand, master, and be able to prototype with existing and new technologies quickly.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience/training
  • 10+ years of experience in Java building web applications in a J2EE Environment
  • 3-5 years of experience in React, TypeScript
  • Experience in application development, testing, implementation and documentation of web based applications using Java
  • Experience in J2EE development including Spring, Struts, JSP, web services, React, JavaScript, Eclipse, Git, SQL
  • Experience defining tables and creating SQL queries using DB2 (preferred) or another database platform
  • Experience creating and configuring deployments in Jenkins
  • Experience with Cloud, OpenShift is preferred
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize multiple streams of activity. Adapt well to changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with a high-level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in building, debugging and maintaining mission critical enterprise applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and with a dispersed team
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Agile software development disciplines
  • Thorough documentation of the work in progress, as part of adherence to our team standards as determined by lead architects, in conjunction with the team as a whole.
  • Help to make our team better through peer review, knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Foster, promote and encourage teamwork and close working relationships across the IT Department

We are seeking the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years' experience in software development or similar related position. Retail Industry experience preferred. Product Information Management (PIM) and Merchandising System experience a plus.
  • Ability to maintain efficiency and positive attitude in the face of challenging and competing deadlines
  • Ability to operate in a Scrum based environment where Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, backlog grooming and Sprint Retrospective are held
  • Experience with enterprise commercial software implementations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and experience interacting at all levels throughout IT/business teams and working within large, matrixed organizations
  • Highly organized, great attention to detail and 'hands on' work style
  • Experience in design, development, testing and support of critical enterprise-level systems in a cross platform environment
  • Independent with strong critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and internal drive for results. Strong planning, execution and multitasking skills and demonstrated ability to nimbly reprioritize and meet deadlines reliably.

We are seeking the following technical skills:

  • Stibo Systems's Trailblazer platform, and Oracle or JDA merchandising / inventory management suites preferred
  • Java and Java Scripting, JBOSS
  • PL/SQL
  • Subversion (SVN) source control, Maven, Jenkins and Eclipse based IDEs
  • Implementing solutions within AWS, Azure or similar cloud ecosystems

Position is eligible for bonus based on individual and group performance.
