Job Summary

The Enterprise SharePoint Service Support Developer/Administrator Senior works to maintain, support, and enhance the highly complex Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) Enterprise SharePoint Service and related products that enable day-to-day work activities for over 40,000 Executive Branch employees. Primary areas of focus are consistent service delivery, quality customer service, effective incident management, efficient issue resolution, and positive vendor engagement outcomes.

The incumbent works closely with vendors, architects and senior technical resources, SharePoint developers, SharePoint administrators, and agency-based SharePoint subject matter experts to ensure that the Enterprise SharePoint service and sites operate according to design specifications.

Along with project managers, business analysts, subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to deliver SharePoint applications that address documented business requirements and operate within design specifications. The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff and translate business requirements into technical solutions is critical for this position.

Due to the complex nature of the SharePoint product set and its integration with business processes that support mission critical activities of Executive Branch agencies this position requires senior-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the evergreen model of Office 365 demands a high degree of flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to new feature rollouts, support scenarios, and situations.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Perform complex problem solving and analysis to assist in the support and management of SharePoint on premise farms and O365

  • Monitor ticketing system and manage tickets according to defined processes

  • Act as a point of escalation for other SharePoint Developers/Administrators for advanced troubleshooting and problem escalation

  • Test, troubleshoot and resolve application issues as necessary

  • Analyze business requirements for new development, maintenance and enhancement projects for highly complex and/or large-scale applications

  • Design and develop applications to meet business requirements using configurable elements of functionality native to SharePoint, .Net, and third party add-on tools or applications

  • Conduct peer code reviews, technical walkthroughs, end user demonstrations

  • Conduct manual and/or automated testing, log defects and take appropriate corrective action

  • Provide subject matter expertise to new SharePoint feature integration

  • Conduct manual and/or automated testing, log defects and take appropriate corrective action

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience managing and supporting SharePoint including one or more of the following versions: O365, 2016, 2013, 2010

Experience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, and SharePoint workflow and related Microsoft Office products

Experience using HTML5, CSS3, DOM, JavaScript

Experience with one or more of the following: C#, XML, XSLT, jQuery, AJAX

Experience with Visual Studio

A Masters degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, OR a related Bachelors degree substitutes for two years, OR a related Associates substitutes for one year.

Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification

Experience supporting SharePoint O365 and 2016

Experience supporting and developing Nintex workflows

Experience migrating from SharePoint on premise to O365

Experience with at least one source control tool (i.e. GitLav, SVN, or TFS)

Experience with PnP PowerShell and SharePoint framework applications

Experience developing applications that meet accessibility standards

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, working both independently and in a team setting

Excellent communication skills
