Job Overview

We have an immediate opportunity for a Sr. Security Engineer to join our global IT team located in Milwaukee, WI. This role will have a dotted line report into the Komatsu Mining data solutions team.


  • Design, architect, and implement Azure-hosed IIoT security solution

  • Hands-on technical security engineering work

  • Design IIoT edge to Azure cloud networks, including proxies, networks, VPNs, and firewalls

  • Configuration and installation of network topologies to support IIoT platform

  • Integration of networks & security designs into Azure Active Directory

  • Respond to security alerts and analyze events to determine appropriate actions

  • Evaluate new technologies and processes to continuously improve and enhance security capabilities

  • Assist with the execution of Cloud IIoT programs such as incident / event monitoring, vulnerability management, patch management, systems hardening, and application security.

  • Develop IIoT device and cloud security standards and guidance to achieve corporate security requirements set forth by Komatsu

  • Ability to work off shift hours as required (on call rotation)

  • Provide guidance to other staff members in the area of infrastructure and network cybersecurity

  • Tier 3 Support

  • Working with external vendors and technology providers

  • Ability to travel internationally when needed

Education / Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field or- equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of work experience in security engineering and implementation, and security tools

  • CISSP certification, preferred but not required

  • Experience with network design experience working both cloud and on-premise solutions, including Azure active directory.

  • Strong hands-on technical experience in both Windows & Linux environments.

  • Experience with intrusion detection & vulnerability scanning.

  • Experience with incident response handling.

  • Experience with systems hardening and infrastructure security.

  • Strong troubleshooting, ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization

Day-to-day, you will: * Work closely with enterprise architects to identify and mitigate risks, perform security reviews, design credible security practices, and deliver strategic, creative cloud based security offerings. * Propose, design, plan and execute strategic and tactical operational security objectives. * Develop metrics that effectively evaluate and handle threats * Identify appropriate technology/data sources and drive the collection of data necessary to effectively evaluate threats. * Communicate threat intelligence and vulnerability management options * Analyzing threats and current security controls to identify gaps in current defensive posture * Meet with clients and leading workshops Qualifications: You have proven foundation across Microsoft technology stack and Azure security offerings and are able to communicate security and risk-related concepts to key partners along with experience with the following: * Enterprise Mobility and Security Suite (EM+S), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Intune * Azure Key Vault, Azure Security Center, OMS * Identity and Access Management principals * Architecture and security management * Deep understanding of security standard methodologies * Securing network and enterprise cloud applications * Privileged access management technologies * Windows Defender (Advanced) Suite level 8-7 * Azure Security (Advanced) level 8-7 * Office Data Protection (Advanced) level 8 * Office Data Protection (Inspiring Leader) level 7 * Security frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST 800-53 or OWASP * Building security framework, SIRRP process and/or forensic handling methods * Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft security technologies and strategy * Knowledge of host hardening, auditing, logging and monitoring, network security, SEIM deployments, security analytics, anomaly detection, PKI * Market understanding of industry trends for cyber security, risk & threat intelligence, and governance * Demonstrable ability to implement cloud security models, particularly identity, network, and encryption * Program management skills and solution support for security transformation/implementation programs * Business case development skills for rationalizing, prioritizing & forecasting the funding requirements for security programs and initiatives * Certifications: CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Mobility MCP Exam 98-368, or other meaningful certifications (preferred) To supplement the technical knowledge and project delivery experience, you will come from a Consulting background with good customer facing skills, the ability to capture customer requirements and produce high quality written deliverable.
