The Sr. Security Technology Designer is responsible for all aspects of project delivery. Responsibilities include assisting design meetings with clients; document production including specifications writing and set up and maintenance of Revit models for the security/technology group; ability to work at a firmwide level in support of the low voltage system group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Group Leader with proposal perpetration and may participate in interviews.

  • Assist with Project Management Duties on assigned projects:

  • Create and manage workplans

  • Manage production schedules

  • Attend client meetings

  • Attend internal team meetings

  • Integrate the low voltage design into the overall project to meet the client's needs

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) support to include:

  • Configure low voltage models based on the project architectural model

  • Configure project models using developed templates

  • Assist other project designers in coordinating the low voltage discipline work with Architecture, Structural and MEP disciplines

  • Maintenance of Revit families

  • Quality audit checks on construction documents

  • Ensure BIM standards and guidelines are followed

  • Use client management systems for documents and drawings

  • Assist Architectural discipline in compiling construction documents relative to low voltage drawings and specifications.

  • Assist low voltage designers in clash detection and conflict resolution with MEP and other systems

  • Construction Administration responsibilities:

  • Attend pre-bid meetings

  • Scope validation

  • Pre-construction meetings

  • Shop drawing review

  • Progress meetings

  • RFI responses

  • Field observations

  • Field reports

  • Observation of system operation for punch list reports

Required Skills

  • Understanding of basic Revit functions and automated processes.

  • Understanding of construction management software systems.

  • Advanced skills in production of construction documents using Revit.

  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Ability to manage projects, produce deliverables and perform construction administration duties.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of low voltage experience, experience on justice (correction facilities and government buildings) projects preferred.

  • 2 year degree in construction management or low voltage design related field of study.

  • Knowledge and Understanding of low voltage systems for corrections and other government applications

  • Knowledge of Revit.

  • Knowledge and understanding of construction disciplines and bid documents.
