Job Summary:

Alterome is seeking an experienced Sr Scientist/Principal Investigator to drive in vivo studies for therapeutic proof-of-principle and translational studies in oncology programs. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with animal models and brings scientific rigor, intellectual curiosity, collaborative enthusiasm, and a desire to innovate. We utilize CROs to advance our scientific mission and are looking for a colleague with strong communication skills to make contributions in-office and virtually. This individual will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment at the intersection of multiple teams to meet regulatory and clinical timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and manage in vivo experiments at external CROs to meet scientific goals

  • Participate in planning, design, execution, and analysis of in vivo pharmacology experiments to assess compound efficacy, safety, and PK/PD profiles

  • Oversee quality control, organization, and processing of data into company databases

  • Prepare findings for frequent internal updates and regulatory documentation

  • Manage & expand CRO relationships and identify new PDX or CDX models to advance scientific programs

  • Summarize and report findings to team members and management

  • Communicate scientific and technical perspectives to advance pre-clinical and translational studies

  • Effectively communicate experimental findings in oral and written formats

  • Work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Qualifications:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Pharmacology/Cancer Biology or a related discipline with 8+ (BS), 6+ (MS), or 3+ (PhD) years of relevant research experience

  • Hands-on experience with design and execution of complex in vivo experiments utilizing CDX/PDX tumor models

  • Demonstrated excellence and productivity in managing and organizing research studies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A collaborative and accountable work ethic engaged with peers and management

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

  • Strong experience collaborating and troubleshooting with CROs

  • Builds strong relationships with peers, cross-functional team members, and CROs

  • Extensive knowledge of cell line- and patient-derived xenograft models, humanized models, and genetically engineered mouse models in the small molecule discovery setting

  • Solution-oriented and participates in a learning environment focused on scientific and professional growth

Salary Information: $140,000-$185,000/year based on skills and experience.
