Sr. Scientist Graphic/Mission Computer R&D Join a team recognized for leadership, innovation and diversity
Responsible for conducting research, development and demonstration of advanced technology that will result in new technologies. You will act as a technology leader championing technologies from initial concept through transitioning to product development. You will be responsible for developing new concepts, write proposals for funding (internal and external) and develop new technologies. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional having a strong background in military and commercial graphics, displays and mission computer systems development for safety-critical and mission-critical applications. Having a track record of pursuing and winning external funding for research & development (R&D) (e.g. DARPA, IARPA, AFRL etc.) would be a plus.
Knowledge and experience in: graphics processing, GPUs, hardware design (digital, microprocessor, FPGA), OpenGL
Ability to work with external customers and win new business
Transform customer requirements into innovative prototypes based on creative design and techniques
Help drive growth as a technology expert through interfaces with internal and external customers and partners
Pro-actively conduct opportunity analysis, develop pursuit strategies and teaming, leverage new technologies and integrate concepts into strong R&D proposals, manage and execute funded R&D projects
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities that require quick adaptation and creativity

YOU MUST HAVE
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in the above fields
Ability to manage complex customer requirements, manage stakeholders, learn new technologies, solve problems with speed and innovation
Ability to forge customer relationships and develop winning proposals for external R&D funding
Ability to create external networks for innovation and integrate technologies for cockpit avionics solutions for both, military and commercial aircraft
Experience with Hardware Design: Digital, Microprocessor, FPGA
Experience with System Design Tools: 3Views, DOORS
Experience with one or more of: Mission Computer, Display Processor, Head Worn Display, Remote Frequency Display, Data Transfer System, Mission Planning Station, Vehicle Management Computer, Helmet Displays
Experience with ground vehicle or autonomous vehicles (UAS/UAM)
Knowledge of one or more of these defense/aero industry standards: MIL-STDs: 1553B (network), 810 (environmental testing), 461 (EMI), 454 (environmental), MIL-HDBK-217F (Reliability), VME & IEEE 1101.2, VITA 48 (Circuit Card Form Factor), VITA 46.1, 46.1.3 (PCIe, SIO Networks), VITA 60 (interconnect), DO-254/178B/C, etc.
