Wehave an exciting opportunity for a Sr.Scientist within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located in Scarborough, ME. In this role, you will ensure compliance withapplicable regulatory requirements.
AbbottRapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family ofbusinesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leadingtechnologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important informationfor treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
Participate as an integral part of a technical team in formulating development strategy and methodology.
Provide recommendations and observations to technical staff and management on results of project tasks.
Innovate methods and product formulations to resolve problems and accomplish objectives. Proactively recommend strategy to overcome issues.
Maintain records of laboratory activities and notebook in professional, accurate manner.
Operate equipment and conduct tasks in a safe manner adhering to established guidelines and applicable regulations.
Writes and edits technical reports. Makesoral reports frequently.
Acquires knowledge of the pertinent literature and does sustained and independent literature reading in this area. Makes acceptable comprehensive literature surveys.
Shows integrity in work and creativeness in ideas. Correlates and interprets complex results and reaches logical conclusions.
Advanceddegree in scientific discipline 5- 7 years experience in a research and ordevelopment enviorment
Good communication skills, capable of communicating ideas to colleagues and customers
Graduatedegree (or equivalent), PhD in a scientific discipline
Statistical process control experience
Strong computer skill writing Macro's and or scripts in MS office Access and JMP
Experience applying statistical procedures, models and graphics in a wide variety of data sets
Practical laboratory skills
