HDR has established a rapidly expanding professional services relationship with a major US-based tech company. In 2018, that relationship represents a full-time equivalency of over 100 staff, potentially growing to over 150 staff in 2019 and more in 2020 and beyond. Anticipating and planning resource needs for multiple, simultaneously running projects from several HDR offices has become an increasingly critical activity to our operations and has created a need for a dedicated Project Scheduler.
HDR is seeking hire a full-time Project Scheduler to join our thriving team. This individual will functionally report to HDR's Area Manager and play a key role in the delivery of HDR projects within its Architectural and Resources Business Groups both nationally and internationally. In the role of Project Scheduler, we'll count on you to:
Support Operations and Project leadership with the development and administration of project schedules and related resource planning.
Assist in the day-to-day management of various project schedules and coordination with HDR project managers.
Be a self-starter in the set up and maintenance of critical path schedule controls processes for several simultaneous projects as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities include
Assist the Project Managers with planning and monitoring all aspects of multiple, large mission critical projects. Multiple projects will be delivered concurrently.
Development and maintenance of both Microsoft Project and Primavera (P6) project schedules for projects both active and in the planning phase(s).
Knowledge of additional client software may be required.
Maintains all schedule information per the project requirements and in coordination with program/project management.
Analyzes changes in schedule sequencing, modified work plans and actual work performed against the short-term look-ahead schedules on an as-needed basis.
Works closely with project teams and management to understand, capture, and correct schedule related issues in reporting accuracy and completeness.
Assists in the development and maintenance of project schedules specific to design, permitting, construction administration, and other miscellaneous disciplines as identified.
Assists in organizing large amounts of information into meaningful schedule visualizations.
Ability to provide recommendations in the development of the project work breakdown structure (WBS) that interfaces and align with specific Program WBS Structures.
Assist in the development of Project metric presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
Utilizes historical data, such as performance experience, for use in projecting a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
Supports program reporting including weekly report updates, monthly confidence reports, development of dashboards and quarterly risk and performance reports.
Reviews monthly cost status against the project schedule to determine project cost and schedule trends with Project Management team.
Develops and supports analyses on earned value (CPI & SPI) and projected cash flow(s).
Create new schedule and cost graphics and reporting tools (including dashboards) as the project advances into diverse and/or future project phases.
Has an ability to analyze complex claims both during the design and construction phases of the project.
Required Knowledge & Qualifications
Strong computer skills in the use of Google G-Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, Power Point) with an added emphasis in the use of schedule management software, specifically Primavera P6.
Presents an ability to perform technical report writing.
Has knowledge of the basic principles and practices of architecture, engineering, construction, and construction management.
Strong understanding of construction methods and scheduling theory
Critical Path Method Scheduling.
Has a working knowledge and understanding of the elements and principals of Risk Assessments and the benefits in the use of strategic planning of projects.
