Position Overview

The Senior SAP SD/LE/MM/EHS Analyst is a business facing IT associate that enables IT to be a more proactive, responsive, and strategic service provider. The mission of the role is to optimize the business value delivered by the IT organization, orchestrate business solutions, and foster digital transformation in the areas of SD/LE/EHS/MM. The Senior SAP SD/LE/MM/EHS Analyst supports clients in the selection, implementation, and support of specific SAP and related 3rd party solutions. This role uses consulting skills, business knowledge, and SAP solution expertise to effectively integrate SAP technology into the client's business environment to achieve client expected business results.

  • Establish Business Unit's technology requirements

  • Identify opportunities to innovate and leverage new technologies for business solutions

  • Analyze and explore business cases optimizing the value of proposed solutions

  • Execute projects and enhancements as agreed with the business partners

  • Manage and improve the portfolio of business solutions

  • Influence decisions about services: internal business resources, IT organization, shared services, and broker relationships with external providers

  • Bring risks to the attention of leaders in business terms; advise on mitigation options

  • Optimize individual solutions costs and coordinate a permanent BU cost optimization program

Job Responsibilities

Hands-on Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the implementation and support of SAP ECC SD/LE/EHS/MM to enhance business functionality and overall performance, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for design, configuration, and testing of SAP business solutions.

  • Analyze the current business processes and scenarios and recommend/develop solutions to meet the needs of the business

  • Responsible for successful implementation of SAP and related solutions, providing functional expertise, guidance, presentation, and instruction on SAP products to clients.

  • Preparation of development specifications

  • Configuration of SD/LE/EHS/MM modules to meet business requirements

  • Work with ABAP team to ensure programs and interfaces are developed in line with functional specifications

  • Configuration, master data, and transactional data objects

  • Project management

Business Relationship Management

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the partner's strategic direction, business needs and drivers, and existing systems. Facilitate alignment of IT strategies to partners business objectives.

  • Lead as the strategic interface between the BRM's function to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.

  • Identify and integrate business partners' long-range plans into business capability roadmaps and priorities. Brief IT stakeholders on business partner plans.

  • Lead the prioritization process, obtaining stakeholder buy in, identifying and promoting those projects which will improve Hexion value by increasing EBITDA, cashflow, compliance and safety.

  • Partner with the PMO, Service Delivery, and managed service provider to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio.

  • Engage as a project/program stakeholder, including evaluating project efforts and progress against joint strategic plans and objectives.

  • Ensure business value realization and optimization, business case development, financial awareness, manage expectations, and identify opportunities to add value.

  • Ensure project and initiative progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes managing escalation and avoiding risk.

  • Be creative and innovative with regards to your knowledge and awareness of industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs.

Technical Competencies

  • Proven track record and successful completion of at least 1 full life cycle ERP implementation and divestitures or mergers from or to a single SAP system

  • Very good understanding of preparing functional specs for interfaces (RICEF)

  • ABAP knowledge, debugging skills etc.

  • Experience with Integration, regression, and user acceptance testing

  • Ability to translate between non-technical business users and technical IT resources.

  • Sound experience in the following areas: Sales, Deliveries, Transportation & Shipment, Shipment costs, and Billing etc.

  • Mastery of condition technique configuration including VOFM routines

  • Experience with activity profiles and shipment enhancements

  • Experience with SAPScript and smartform creation

  • Experience in a global company

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or eight (8) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as an SAP Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or IT related role

  • 5 years of experience with SAP ECC including expert knowledge in SD/LE/EHS/MM.

  • Leading SAP SD/LE/EHS/MM support and project implementations across multiple geographic regions and teams.

  • SAP interfaces to on premise and hosted external systems.

  • Experience in chemical, process, or manufacturing industries.

  • Experience with Release Management, Configuration management, Systems Integration, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design.

  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking.

  • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving.

  • Ability to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to effectively manage and communicate within a matrix environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft O365 collaboration applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with exceptional influencing and written communication skills.
