LPL's Business Development (BD) team is looking for a highly creative individual to spearhead our efforts in Sales training. Our Associate Learning & Development Consultant will work closely with LPL's Talent Development leadership to develop, implement, and facilitate sales training courses and offerings that build skills and capabilities that drive business results. This includes designing and delivering content and courses that specifically supports BDs recruiting team.

The ideal candidate will be able to design sales training courses, formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, instructor led group instruction, workshops, lectures, demonstrations meetings, simulations, and e-learning.

The job will require the candidate to:

  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works

  • Partner with our leaders in Business Development to customize and deliver program content and systems based on needs assessments

  • Facilitate, present, and execute on comprehensive project plans

  • Develop, implement, and maintain training tools and materials

  • Handle logistics (training schedule, classroom materials, etc.) for self and, as needed, colleagues in multiple locations


  • Work with subject matter experts and business partners on course design

  • Training content design and development

  • Project execution

  • Content delivery

  • Measurement of results


  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus

  • Prior experience with training functions is ideal: writing, editing, presenting, facilitating, planning, organizing all aspects of training and project management initiatives. Learning design experience a plus.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in instructional development, adult learning theory, and/or sales training

  • Microsoft Office required, e-Learning software knowledge a plus

  • Exceptional communication skills, energy ,and drive for results

  • Exceptional oral communication and written presentation skills

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

VIEW JOBS 9/2/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-01T00:00 Job Description As the Sr. Sales Trainer you will be the catalyst behind NuVasive's focused effort to standardize and globalize Sales Training and Development for all shareowners and distributor sales teams. You will report directly to the Leader, Sales Training and Development, and will have direct interaction with global commercial sales team. As part of our dynamic team, you will be tasked with the responsibility of partnering in the development of a training and development plan based upon our foundational domestic programs, while accommodating for geographic and cultural distinctions. Essential Responsibilities * Develop an annual hiring and product calendar to define implementation schedule of training programs and corresponding educational resources * Co-coordinate and aid in facilitation of NuVasive's clinical and sales focused Instructor Lead Trainings (ILT) in San Diego, Amsterdam, other International NuVa offices, and International Spine Society meetings * Provide input in the development and facilitation of NuVasive's field sales training programs/modules in Amsterdam and other International locations * Leverage current/future technological platforms (ie,, NuVa University) to track, manage, and deliver individual/group/country educational programs and content * Conduct "train the trainer" programs to educate all current/future Mgr, Sales Trainers * Assist in orchestrating and executing annual NuVasive Sales Meeting (NSM) with focus on International breakouts and education * Create alignment with global team of Sales Trainers to schedule, develop and execute individual, team, and quarterly sales and/or development trainings * Drive policy formulation and planning for Sales Training and Development programs while leveraging regionally based resources to ensure accommodation of geographic and cultural distinctions * Develop, manage, and monitor annual Sales Training and Development budget * Define approach to International Sales Training and Development strategy achievement and collaborate with the Vice President, Sales Training and Development on tactical execution and progress Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * 3+ years of related experience preferred (Spine Sales and/or Spine/Medical Device Sales Training), International experience preferred but not required * Experience with and a strong ability to present to small and/or large groups * Proficient and accurate with Microsoft Office Suite with specific emphasis on: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook calendaring * Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends - travel up to 25% * Must be willing and able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Preferred Qualifications * Understand and/or demonstrates a strong ability to learn/utilize new technologies including but not limited to:, SAP, etc. * Demonstrates strong organizational, attention to detail, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills; as well as being resourceful * Ability to navigate the organization to solve and interpret problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions * Ability to write business reports/correspondence, edit documents/communications and have strong communication skills (presentation, verbal, and written) NuVasive is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
