A Day in the Life
Senior Director of Sales, GIH will be the senior sales leadership position in Medtronic's Gastrointestinal & Hepatology (GIH) organization reporting to the VP & General Manager, GIH. This individual will develop and implement sales strategies and provide leadership and direction to the field sales organization.The position is responsible for the overall fiscal success of the GIH business, including net revenue and expense management, exceeding market growth and increasing product revenue margins. The position will be actively engaged in developing the division's strategic plan and operational goals. The Sr Sales Director GIH will be responsible also for Commercial Excellence, Business Intelligence, Sales Operations, Customer Service, Inside Sales and Clinical Specialists.
Establish strategic sales plans, in partnership with Marketing for the purpose of achieving corporate objectives for products and services resulting in revenue growth above market rates
Organize sales force territory design and call points to meet the needs of our business
Drive the Sales Automation strategy by leveraging SFDC and Callidus Cloud
Responsible for commercial strategy and execution of the GI Solutions and Ablation businesses
Develops Key Opinion Leader relationships to support the growth of the business
Develop successful and key senior relationships with strategic partners, working closely to identify and qualify new business opportunities
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image both internally and externally
Works closely with cross-functional departments in Medtronic's matrix organization
Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, relationship development, and customer satisfaction
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback for sales team; participate/oversee succession planning efforts
Own pipeline transformation, sales compensation evolution, and collaborate with professional service
Devise and deploy all sales objectives and goals, including sales targets and budget preparation
Inspire, motive and create a culture of inclusion and teamwork
Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years prior relevant sales and sales leadership experience
Or minimum 13 years prior relevant sales and sales leadership experience with Masters of Advanced Degree
8+ years sales and sales management experience in medical devices
Nice to Have
A proven track record of hiring, developing and promoting key talent throughout the organization
Must have successfully demonstrated top performing capability in sales management at top sales organization levels (Director and above or comparable).
Demonstrated strong problem solving and negotiating skills
Experience working in a matrixed environment
