Sr. Safety Specialist (Research)

Expected Starting Salary Range: 34.50 - 43.54

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Health and Safety

Provide support for department specific occupational, environmental, employee or patient health and safety related programs. Respond to identified concerns and reports.

• Reporting

Develop and prepare reports, which summarize trends, safety concerns and historical data. Analyze data, incident reports, and audits to related to safety and health issues.

• Education

Provide education and training to support safety initiatives.

• Investigations

Conduct investigations on incidents and safety concerns.

• Action Plans

Identify, recommend, and help implement corrective and preventative action plans.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• 2 - 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

• Experienced research professional

• Completes job hazard assessments and develops training plans and process changes in response

• Familiarity in research/ animal work

• Experience with chemicals/chemical safety
