Celadon, one of Indiana's fastest growing companies, is looking for a Senior Operations Maintenance Coordinator in its Road Maintenance division. The Senior Maintenance Coordinators will require you to be patient, an excellent communicator, proactive, analytical, solution-focused, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.


  • Perform Road Maintenance duties as defined in your Department Procedures Manual, or as directed by your Manager.

  • Review all vendor repair orders for consistency and accuracy.

  • Lower Road Maintenance cost by establishing new, more cost competitive vendors.

  • Assist Claims in completing accident reports.

  • Follow up on all repairs to insure that the job actually gets completed.

  • Complete all necessary documents accurately and completely.

  • Review and Close all Comchecks.

  • Review all invoices in IP for accuracy and potential missed warranty.

  • Secure estimates and pictures for any repairs over $1,000.

  • Tracking of tractors at dealers and updating Operations info screen

  • Understand and put into everyday practice the warranty guidelines associated with the trucks in the fleet.

  • Ensure current reference / training materials are up to date in the department.

  • Chargeback of all over the road (OTR) maintenance for owner operators and lease purchase drivers.

  • Assist in the Repo process involving lease equipment.

  • Answer emails from Driver Managers in a timely manner.

  • Facilitate repairs needed in an efficient and effective manner based upon the information given from the Driver Manager.

  • Look for ways to improve efficiency and cut cost.

  • Work with Solutions Specialist to come up with the most effective method to get truck repaired and driver moving.

  • Follow up with Driver Managers with an estimated time of completion on each truck every 3 hours.

  • Work with terminal shops on needed outside repairs.

  • Follow all company guidelines and procedures as set forth in your employee and departmental handbooks. You are required to understand 100% of their content.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements


  • H.S./GED required, college background preferred

  • General knowledge of ground transportation equipment - Diesel

  • One year experience in customer service or related field

  • Effective verbal, written and organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Geography

  • Basic knowledge of PC's and Microsoft applications

The successful candidate will work with a team to ensure that the projects are designed in accordance with current manuals and specifications, as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures. Candidate will interface with CAD designers, other engineers and clients. * The successful candidate will gain great experience in transportation engineering not only in Indiana but across the nation. * Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable. * Prepares standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. * Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. * Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses. * Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. * Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. * Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications: * 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) * 0-2 years of related work experience. * In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred. * Any experience or previous internship work with state DOT highway projects desirable * Familiarity with the following design software is also a plus: Microstation, Inroads, and Excel. * Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
