Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

Work with internal resources to collect and summarize exposure information for policy renewals. Review updates with V.P. or Assistant Risk Manager(s) and communicate exposure data to brokers or insurers in a timely manner.

Assist in review of quotations and policies to evaluate accuracy and coverage. Review assigned audits for consistency with actual policy and with final exposure data provided to Insurers. Monitor invoice processing with real estate investment placements to ensure timely payment of premiums.

Manage off site storage according to business unit guidelines. Update agents and insurers during the policy year of changing exposure information or unique activities/events. Assist in maintaining location schedules to reflect office openings and lease expirations.

Facilitate issuance of proper certificates of insurance to vendors, landlords and other requesting parties. Provide certificate holder updates to broker at renewal and throughout policy term to ensure prompt certificate issuance. Monitor and review corporate auto and general liability claim reporting and handling for accuracy and consistency with on-line claim handling instructions (SAC). Report general liability incidents to CSS or claim service vendor.

Prepare monthly updates to loss summaries for corporate auto and general liability. Prepare monthly accident reports for fleet safety and accident review committee needs. Review accidents to determine preventability or non-preventability status.

Document and forward monthly summary results to Safety Manager as well as to IT to enter into the driver database. Receive and review rental company claim reports to ensure that claims have also been reported to CSS or claim service vendor. Confirm that claim representatives are aware when rental company coverage is to be primary.

Track individual large or unusual claims and keep abreast of developments related to corporate litigation on these claims. Work with Claim, Claim Legal and Legal Services as needed to ensure necessary information is provided for efficient claim handling. Provide updates on fleet vehicles and drivers to broker and other parties to facilitate efficient and accurate issuance of automobile ID cards at each policy renewal and as vehicle changes occur.

Respond to requests from other departments for corporate insurance and related information. Assist with Procurement and Business Unit contract questions relating to corporate insurance requirements. Review exceptions with Legal Services as needed.

Update claim contact, insurance premium, policy summary and related exhibits for V.P. of Risk Management as renewals are completed. Initiate annual claim file review with CSS and Claim Account Executive including providing list of claims for discussion. Other policy renewal and claim information related duties as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Support the administration and analysis of Travelers' own corporate insurance programs and other corporate risk management practices. Maintain communication with business centers, departments and external agents, brokers, and insurers for effective exchange and management of information. Assist the V.P. of Risk Mgmt. and Assistant Risk Manager(s) of Travelers Corporate Insurance and Risk Management in identifying and maintaining exposure summaries and reviewing coverage.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
5 or more years of experience working with or in a risk management department and college degree preferred. Increased knowledge of the implication of corporate contracts on coverage as well as company resources and repositories of pertinent information to help efficiently monitor and respond to claims and coverage questions. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel & PowerPoint. Strong commercial insurance background with knowledge of company business operations. The following would be desirable: Familiarity with large insured underwriting, claims handling or loss control servicing.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a high school diploma. Requires minimum of five years P/C insurance industry experience with basic knowledge of commercial auto and/or commercial general liability lines of coverage.

You will be joining a group of dedicated professionals charged with leading Travelers to be in a position to endure catastrophic loss from natural and man-made perils. The Team is responsible for state-of-the-art analytics using cutting-edge tools, quantitative methods, and technologies to assess risk from natural perils (e.g. hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires, flood etc.) and man-made perils including terrorism and cyber risk. We engage in Enterprise-wide complex multi-disciplinary catastrophe research projects with various depths of focus. Education, Work Experience & Knowledge Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (Economics and Econometrics, Analytical Finance, Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics etc.). Related work experience. Domain knowledge of primary P&C insurance market, a basic understanding of CAT modeling concepts and one or more vendor CAT models preferred.
