Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

Partnering and having joint ownership with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business. Building and maintaining productive relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers as a unified team.

Writing technically detailed reports that communicate a clear assessment of risk and effectively articulate recommendations Discovering and evaluating customer needs through loss analysis and customer readiness in order to provide Risk Control products and services to help control losses. Staying current with technical subject matters, regulatory environment and emerging issues. Creating a valued customer experience through each assessment and service encounter. Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, provide the Underwriter with account knowledge as it relates to hazards, controls, and management. They will need to evaluate how a company identifies and manages their inherent risk factors.

Additionally they are expected to differentiate the account from others in similar classes of business. In this role the consultant will be working with our larger, more complex and all lines accounts. This role reports to the Risk Control Field Director Managing Risk Control Consultant. This job does not manage others.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

Insurance industry acumen. Graduate degree in related field.

(Frequently) Use of Keyboards, Sporadic 10-Key (Frequently) Driving (Daily) Walking on surfaces that are uneven, wet, icy, and somewhat unstable. (Frequently) Climbing unprotected heights (ladder, rooftop, stairs, loading dock) (Occasionally)

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences and related technical fields required. 8+ years of experience in risk control or safety related positions in industries such as construction, manufacturing, or military required . Mastery knowledge of business insurance lines of coverage and contractual risk transfer required . Valid drivers license required . Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet specific state requirements where applicable.

Essential Functions Statement(s) * Work with operations personnel to program, configure, and troubleshoot control systems. * PLC, HMI, and Modbus configuration and troubleshooting * Hands on systems troubleshooting, configuration, testing, and end user support, including visits to active oil/gas locations * Coordinate with internal resources and outside contractors during operation and maintenance of equipment * Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with all codes * Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous to personnel or equipment * Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and process meters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. * Project management of small- to mid-sized business process improvement efforts. * Efficiently coordinates and communicates with third party consultants, vendors, business leaders, users, and technical team to ensure efficient delivery of quality business solutions and support * Research and resolve help desk issues that relate to the process control systems * Provide user training for individuals and groups * May provide guidance to Technicians with less experience POSITION QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: * High School Diploma or GED required * Secondary education in electronics preferred * Sufficient Education to complete written documentation and records Experience & Skills: * 8+ years of related experience * Experience in coordinating system integration with other systems * Oil and Gas, or Manufacturing and Logistics experience * Experience troubleshooting various control systems, including analog, digital, serial and Ethernet circuits Certifications & Licenses: * Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record within past five years for insurance carrier coverage * Valid electrical license preferred Other Requirements * Ability to analyze and/or design business processes end-to-end * Ability to communicate and interact effectively at both technical and business level * Strong team player with proven ability to work effectively cross-functionally * Excellent customer service skills * Strong organizational, multi-tasking and project management skills * Excellent communication skills * Customer Service focused and team player * Must be able and willing to travel 20% of the time Work Environment: Work performed in well site environments.
