Sr Revenue Accountant

Role Summary/Purpose: We're looking for a high energy,
detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the accounting
team as a Sr Revenue Accountant. This is a brand-new role created
to support the company's growth and will be responsible for the
revenue reporting across the organization. Lastly, this role is
based out of our New York Headquarters, is a hybrid position and
will be reporting to the Assistant Controller.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for the direct oversight of the accounts receivable
  and revenue recognition function as a whole and the accounts
  receivable analyst

• Responsible for the monthly close tasks and reconciliations
  over accounts receivable, revenue and deferred revenue

• Own the design and maintenance of controls over reporting of
  revenue and assisting in forecasting activities for revenue,
  billings and collections

• Oversee the billings and collections of the company with the
  assistance of the accounts receivable analyst

• Familiarity with project accounting and bookkeeping tasks such
  as journal entries in the ERP system

• Assist in customer onboarding and set up to customer payment
  portal

• Analyze sales transactions within the Company's ERP systems to
  ensure accuracy and integrity of data

• Conduct frequent ad hoc reporting and analysis related to
  customer transactions and data

• Conduct research on revenue accounting guidance as needed

• Provide input to monthly and quarterly flux variance analysis
  as well be the point person for internal & external audits for
  respective areas

• Partner with Project Finance team with the management,
  assessment and informational reporting requests of our community
  solar aggregators and utilities

• Assist Project Finance with accurate projections and collection
  of funds from incentive programs

• Work cross-functionally with key internal business partners,
  such as other members in accounting, asset management, project
  finance and business systems on ongoing issues and/or initiatives
  to help drive to conclusion

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting (CPA is a plus)
  with experience in a similar role within a revenue accounting
  team

• Strong knowledge of revenue operations, revenue recognition and
  reconciliation process

• Prior experience working with sales data and customer contracts

• Proficient in MS Excel & experience working with large volumes
  of data inclusive but not limited to data tagging and filtering,
  XLOOKUP, SUMIF(s) and Pivots tables

• Previous experience in renewable energy industry is a plus

• Strong understanding of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite,
  Salesforce)

• Working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606

• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication,
  with a capacity to articulate issues and synthesize accounting
  concepts into concise and informative memos

• Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and
  time management skills

• Must be self-motivated, flexible, deadline-oriented and able to
  complete tasks with minimal supervision

• Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly scaling, dynamic
  environment, and align well with DSD's core values
