The Partner & Apps team in the Devices organization is looking for a Senior Research Operations Manager to join our market research function to support all research and developer insights. You will be an advocate for our developer customers and creating frictionless experiences for them. Our developers create engaging experiences for customers on Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets in addition to the Amazon Appstore for Android. Our mission is to bring the developers' voice to product development, supporting the development of high quality products through developer insights under aggressive timelines.
As the Sr. Research Operations Manager, you will work closely with Technical Program Manager, Product Management, Engineering, UX Design, Business Development, and Solutions Architects to define the market research roadmap. You will keep developer insights flowing as the key contact for our developer research panels. You will bridge their feedback and product development and strategically plan research activities and process improvements. In this role, you will educate teams about research and best practices and develop mechanisms to ensure that research participants have the best experience possible including research schedule management, panel administration, and end-to-end research execution.
This position demands an ability to prioritize and multitask. It's a role that requires both high level and detailed thinking. The ideal candidate will have experience with program management, software testing and/or user research, and be excited to influence the developer experience of new products. They will also have great people skills, experience working with others around the globe and be willing and able to 'roll their sleeves up' and dig into problems when needed. In additional to this, they will have an ability to define developer feedback mechanisms (e.g. surveys, discussion guides), analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and have an aptitude for learning and understanding new technology.
In this role you will:
1.Define the market research mission for our organization.
2.Partner with stakeholder teams to understand their requirements and provide guidance, based on your domain knowledge, on how they can incorporate the voice of the developer into product development. We want to build products that developers want and need.
3.Program and launch research studies via the customer insight software.
4.Create mechanisms for disseminating learnings throughout the organization.
5.Create, track, and report on success metrics.
Manage improvement for research engagement activities and operations
Continually assess how we engage with researchers, designers and product teams to ensure we have the most consistent and positive research processes
Pivot quickly to make changes or adjust when part of our process is inefficient
Drive Research Panel adoption by stakeholders and best practice development
Support development of new research program initiatives
Panel Recruitment & Health
Manage panelist recruitment activities
Track panel composition and recommend strategic recruits based on upcoming projects or gaps identified
Develop new recruiting channels, mechanisms and best practices
Stay apprised of panel engagement levels for purge and refresh activities
Track panel engagement health to identify areas of over burden, panel fatigue or segments who have not been engaged enough
Research Community & Stakeholder Management
Keep up a newsletter to keep members and stakeholders engaged
Manage incentives when necessary for Research Panels
Manage access to and licenses for all research tools
Research programming, support and analysis
Project Management - manage feature requests, research calendar, panel health activity schedule and self-service mechanism support
Program surveys and engagement activities using the research panel, optimizing for the panelist experience.
Panel administration, including the creation and management of Profile Variables, Member Groups, communication templates, and question templates
Utilize best practices to maintain a high bar of the research program, creating new mechanisms when required for consistent panelist experiences
Adhoc research administration such as scheduling interviews, training workshops, and gift fulfillment
