A DAY IN THE LIFE:

A highly skilled senior team member responsible for management, development, and execution of reliability tests on the company's multiple products including continual testing throughout the product lifecycle beginning with products during development. Works with a multi-disciplined team consisting of engineers, production, quality assurance, and technicians to contribute to the Company bottom line by ensuring continuous and consistent product reliability and identifying opportunities to improve our products.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining on-going reliability monitoring plans through system, pump and component level tests, and cartridge tests.

  • Deploys tools that measure reliability performance at the component, device, and system level, including designing, building, programming, debugging, documenting, training, and releasing such tooling.

  • Creates and maintains tools within the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Forms, SharePoint, Power Automate, Bookings) that the Reliability team can use for managing job requests and equipment availability and understanding the status of issues and test results.

  • Provides on-going engineering support to troubleshooting issues seen during pre-launch or post introduction phases. This may include creating and populating an issue tracker and driving resolution with the individual owners.

  • Writes and revises reliability related work instructions, test protocols, and reports.

  • Becomes an expert on the functionality of reliability related subsystems within our products, selects the appropriate tests to perform as part of failure analysis, and escalates findings within the R&D, Quality and/or Operations organizations as appropriate.

  • Develops and manages relationships with external test facilities/vendors which may be utilized for required testing including standards. Duties include Protocol, RFQ and PO generation, transmittance and receipt of test samples, and incorporation of externally generated test reports for internal publication.

  • Drives field reliability monitoring to develop models and reports on warranty prediction of products by manufacturing date and product configuration.

  • Develops, verifies, and revises usage models to be used in test regimens that assess performance of new products or design changes to existing products.

  • Manages design verification testing for new product development and design changes to existing products. This may include writing and releasing test protocols and work instructions.

  • Assists Research and Development (R&D) engineers with new product development and design for reliability.

  • Participates in systems engineering testing and troubleshooting of new and existing products.

  • Participates in Design Reviews.

  • Performs reliability testing as defined by development project plans and product requirements.

  • Participates in defining product reliability requirements, product use cases, and developing associated test methods.

  • Contributes to planning, design, development, and evaluation of the company's products including its subassemblies, components, and packaging through effective feedback of reliability test results.

  • Contributes to the review of supplier capability to support reliability testing.

YOU'RE AWESOME AT:

  • Experience in reliability testing of electromechanical devices controlled by embedded software preferred.

  • Experience in deploying tools that measure reliability performance at the component, device, or system level, including designing, building, programming, debugging, documenting, training, and releasing such tooling.

  • Experience with generating reliability metrics and summaries including Warranty Predictions (Parts Count and Reliability Block Diagram), Unreliability and Nevada charts, and Time to Failure using ReliaSoft, JMP, Minitab or equivalent software.

  • Product design experience is desirable.

  • Good oral and written communication skills and able to champion own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information as well as accepting and implementing ideas of others.

  • Must be able to adapt and buy into project management methods that include scrum processes.

  • Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success. Will interact with a team of technicians and their supervisors daily.

  • Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary.

  • Experience using Agile for change orders and documentation release.

  • Has working knowledge of federal and other regulations, e.g. QSRs, ISO 14971, IEC 60601 series.

  • Knowledge of Good Documentation and Manufacturing Practices (GDP / GMP).

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering field or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.

  • Advanced coursework/Masters in related field desirable.

  • 7 years of experience as an engineer with at least 4 years in reliability test engineering.

  • Experience creating and releasing test protocols, compiling test results, and compiling and releasing the related test reports.

  • Experience coordinating activities with outside test labs and making sourcing decisions equipment suppliers to ensure the delivery of services needed to meet scheduled timelines.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
