Position Summary:

Voya is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join Reinsurance Administration and FP&A team under Employee Benefits/Life/Annuity Finance team. The position will responsible for managing complex reinsurance treaties, reinsurance reporting, and financial reporting for Voya Legacy Life/Annuity business.

Position Description:

  • Reviews, validates, and analyzes reinsurance settlements data and reports received from reinsurers for completeness and accuracy per agreements.

  • Calculates and analyzes reinsurance accruals and settlements.

  • Contributes to financial close cycles, including reporting, preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries.

  • Establishes, modifies, documents, and implements control procedures to reinsurance processes.

  • Participates in developing accounting and reporting for new and amended treaties in accordance with reinsurance agreements and accounting standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring reinsurance processes and reporting activities are in compliance with SOX and audit standards.

  • Assists with audit inquiries from state examiners, internal and external auditors.

  • Shares technical expertise with others. Recommends process improvements.

  • Able to manage multiple, often competing priorities, under tight deadlines.

  • Able to work with large dataset, ledger data, and complex excel files.

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Experience:

  • BA degree in Finance/Accounting

  • 4-6 years of industry related experience, preferred in reinsurance and financial reporting areas

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organization skills; attention to detail; self-motivated, proactive and able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to balance quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Ability to scale large and complex dataset into meaningful analysis

  • Ability to work with detail income statement ledger data

  • Advance Excel user

  • Good understanding of accounting principles and reinsurance

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • GAAP and Statutory reporting experience
