The Sr. Reimbursement Strategist will conduct research, design and provide pre and post market access strategy/guidance, including a reimbursement plan encompassing pre/post market studies for coding, payer coverage and reimbursement for Cepheid molecular assays in the US.
The candidate must understand government and third party payer reimbursement mechanisms for various market channels including but not limited to Physician Office Laboratories, Hospital Systems, Urgent Care Systems and Accountable Care Organizations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams from concept through post launch stages. Candidates will coordinate with regional field-based commercial teams to provide reimbursement assistance and education for customers.
The position will report to the Director, US Reimbursement Strategy in the Government Affairs Department and engage in coding, coverage, payment and pay-for-performance policy development activities with third party payers, Medicare and Medicaid.
Conduct coding, coverage, payment, and policy research to assess and inform market access risks and opportunities for Cepheid molecular assays
Assess clinical evidence and gaps impacting payer determinations
Draft market access protocols to support payer adoption of Cepheid assays
Develop and implement market access and reimbursement strategic plans based on research
Evaluate market access trends and prepare/present forecasts
Lead collaborative efforts on post market health economic and clinical utility studies that support payer coverage and reimbursement of Cepheid assays
Construct reimbursement related collateral and conduct training presentations to support field sales and distributor representatives
Collaborate with internal and external collaborators on strategic reimbursement projects
Prepare payer dossiers for Cepheid products
Address field sales and Cepheid customer reimbursement, coding, and coverage inquiries
Coordinate and lead meetings internally to support market access for Cepheid's assays
Utilize Danaher Business System tools for tracking and managing business responsibilities
Deliver presentations to internal and external customers
Attend required meetings and trainings in accordance with company policies

Ability to conduct payer research (policy and evidence) and identify gaps
Understands public and private sector coverage and reimbursement mechanisms for molecular and/or laboratory diagnostics
Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to scientific and non-scientific colleagues/customers
Capable of handling multiple projects and inquiries through product lifecycle
Aptitude to work independently and remotely
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to travel to company meetings and/or customers for in person meetings
Experience working with laboratories, diagnostics, or medical device manufacturers preferred
