About the job
The R&D Technology, Infrastructure, and Architecture (TIA) team seeks a Senior R&D Project Manager to support our technology enablement teams. Our highly collaborative team enables SAS engineers, architects, administrators, and users throughout R&D to be at their best, maximize their results, innovate, and continuously improve their ability to execute efficiently.
As a Senior R&D Project Manager, you will:
Support the R&D TIA teams in the completion of deadline-driven, team-based projects. Responsible for facilitating overall project objectives, goals, and project requirements. Working with the team and stakeholders to define project scope and goals.
Collaborate with TIA leadership to plan, prioritize, implement, and adjust the delivery schedule, scope, resourcing, and quality based on individual project requirements.
Coordinate, communicate, and facilitate activities between team members and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and manage conflict. Coordinates risk mitigation activity and escalates as appropriate. Manages project scope and expectations. Identifies and constructively negotiates conflicts or areas of high risk.
Maintain project documentation such as project plans, schedules, issue lists, risk registers, and status reports.
Leverage methodologies, processes, project tools, and best practices to accelerate project delivery.
dentify project dependencies and stakeholder influences, working jointly with other organizations who share responsibility for delivering the final product. Acts as a central point of contact and interfaces with interested parties across the Company, such as Legal, Global Information Security (GIS), and Cloud Information Services (CIS), to ensure project success.
Required qualifications:
Eight years of experience in a technical project management role.
Bachelors degree in a quantitative field.
Excellent competence in technical project management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent negotiation and organizational abilities
Excellent decision-making ability
Excellent risk management skills
Preferred qualifications:
Strong strategic thinking skills
Strong leadership skills
May serve as a coach to their peers and project teams across a variety of methodologies and processes
Experience with the Agile methodology and ability to direct/coach teams in the use of Agile methodology are strongly preferred.
