What You Will Be Doing

Provide tactical and strategic direction for all R&D programs and policies to assure a steady stream of new product developments/enhancements.

Direct the activities of multiple projects, pilot production, and engineering services, and motivate to successful attainment of departmental and business objectives.

Provide clear technical goals that stretch the organization to deliver innovative products on time while minimizing development effort.
Responsible for helping manage deliverables for R&D Team.
Advance R&D program management.
Support the Chief Technology Officer in defining project scope, tracking progress, facilitating team discussions and conflict resolution as needed.
Help coordinate staffing, develop scheduling and budgetary requirements for the R&D Team.
Help run day-to-day operational aspects of R&D including facilities
Support development of adequate controls for the R&D program without excess bureaucracy.
Support innovative environment.
Help provide clear technical goals that stretch the organization to deliver milestones on time while minimizing development effort.
Resource mapping of R&D staff and resources ensuring efficient use of resources to effectively complete projects.
Develop, maintain, and track detailed functional timelines and budgets.
Identify assumptions, risks, mitigations, key deliverables and achievements, critical path dependencies and resource needs.
Work with multi-functional team members across multiple scientific disciplines in a collaborative environment including chemistry, physics, material science, and engineering to develop and track project activities, key deliverables, timelines; follow-up on action items to ensure completion and execution to timelines.
Develop and present project updates, status reports, and dashboards as needed to communicate project progress, risks and mitigations to the team and multi-functional leadership.
Help evaluate project team members work and manage the accountability and development and maintenance of staff competence;
Mentor team members assisting in their execution and development in management abilities, project management skills, and develop strong influencing behaviors to drive desired outcomes.
What You Need for this Position

At Least 3 Years of experience and knowledge of:

  • M.S. and/or B.S. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science.

  • Device Fabrication

  • Material and Device Development and testing

  • Solar PV

  • LabView

  • Excel, Python or C/C++ a plus

  • Approachable and professional personality to cohesively work with clients and team.
