Edgewell is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer, to manage the quality of the Private Brands products line within the Wet Shave (razors and blades) business.


  • Be accountable for completing all assigned Quality Engineering deliverables (KFPs)

  • Ensure the quality of products produced is consistent with both EPC & Retailer Quality standards.

  • Effectively investigate and ensure the timely closure of consumer complaints (customer/consumer).

  • Ability to effectively interact with vendors, contract manufacturers, suppliers and cross functional Teams relative to quality issues.

  • Ensure the timely closure of Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations and any additional non-conformance investigations.

  • Capability, at an expert level, to utilize a structured method of complex problem solving.

  • Ability to use statistics and Quality Engineering tools (i.e. FMEA, DOE, SPC)

  • Ability to concisely present the summary and recommendations from an adverse event to management and key stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and build strong working relationships with cross functional groups located both externally and internally within the organization.

  • Assess current processes and identify ways to streamline or improve.

  • Conducts quality audits based on appropriate regulatory and procedural requirements.

  • Ability to review and approve New Product specifications, T-Specifications, Bill of Materials, Packaging Assembly Specs, Non Conformance Reports and Deviations.

  • Ability to write, review, revise and approve Quality SOPs.

  • Support appropriate product development quality related projects: internal and external.

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA or BS in a technical discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology or related field.

  • Five to seven years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality related field,

  • Experience in an FDA regulated business or ISO:9000 Quality System

  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CRE, CQA, CSSBB, or ISO Lead Auditor preferred.

  • Validation; DOE; Statistical Analysis; Root Cause Analysis and structured problem solving.

  • Project Management Experience

  • Data Collection, Data Analysis, Project Design, Coordination, Decision Making and Technical Solution Development

  • Demonstrated above-average performance as a QE with excellent leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Excellent computer skills Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Minitab, Visio

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Regulatory requirements for Consumer Products in North America , (FDA), and Asian regions preferred

  • Experience with Injection molded/extrusion plastics parts and metal parts fabrication is a big plus for this role.

Hitchiner produces castings in hundreds of different alloys for a broad spectrum of global markets and customers that include the leaders in the automotive, aerospace, and other industries. * Responsible for all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities associated with the commercialization of new products. This includes Automotive, Aero, and Commercial markets. * Coordinate and lead the APQP process to maximize the success of developing and tracking multiple products or processes through its development life cycle. * Coordinate all APQP activities with the QRB, NPI, Project Management, Product Development, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, and Operations teams to effectively transition new products and ongoing processes. * Define, coordinate and lead all training activities related to APQP * Perform project reviews with team members, ensure reporting is done accurately and regularly, and required deliverables are completed on time. * Identify and ensure adequate and appropriate resources are assigned to all programs and projects to ensure the company's goals for the successful completion are achieved and the customer's needs are met. Work with various managers to secure resources so that cross functional teams can be created to ensure the successful commercialization of new product introductions. * Establish key metrics to monitor the goals of APQP. Report to Operations monthly * Facilitate resolving product deficiencies and problems related to APQP. * Track and monitor project and program costs to ensure the financial investment and payback of the project are in line with the goals and objectives. * Prepare and update applicable IATF16949 / AS9100 documents/procedures concerning APQP, program management, and NPI. * Review and evaluate customer purchase orders, drawings, minor engineering changes and/or other specifications to define product quality requirements as related to APQP. * Perform technical liaison function with production planning and engineering personnel. * Assist Engineering/operations APQP activities such as PPAP, GD&T, FMEA, MSA, etc. as required * Coordinate APQP/PPAP deliverables related to supplier development with Supplier Quality. * Assist APQP activities related to engineering changes as required. * Make recommendations to product engineering to improve quality of products and/or process. * Perform industrial engineering assignments of a medium degree of complexity, involving the application of engineering principles to perform analysis and evaluation in support of plant engineering activities * Observe the Hitchiner code of conduct, safety and quality principles. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Maintain a clean and orderly working environment. * Must be capable of delivering on commitments in a timely and efficient manner. * Bachelor's Degree in engineering. 5-7 years or equivalent knowledge / experience. * Must have prior experience in implementing APQP process. * Must have a working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/ITAF16949 and AS9100. * Must possess good communication and organizational skills. * Previous metalworking / manufacturing experience is preferred. * Computer literacy is a must, including competency in general MS Office applications, technical computer modeling and statistical tools.
