The Product Quality Engineer applies a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise toward the development of new or enhanced products. The Quality Engineer will lead from a technical quality perspective to support product development, design change control and verification/validation activities. This position requires a functional understanding of FDA, ISO and Client Quality systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with global quality systems and Regulatory requirements related to product and process Design Control, risk analysis, investigations, and CAPAs
Support the sustainability and life cycle management of an existing product
Perform design change control activities including impact assessments, reviews, and approvals
Provide Quality Assurance support and guidance for verification and validation of product requirements
Support risk management activities as they relate to post market surveillance
Use statistical trending tools to monitor product complaint trends
Take lead role in CAPA activities such as investigation, implementation, or verification of effectiveness
Develop and participate in the development of solutions to problems specific to assigned project
Interact with off-shore suppliers to complete project related activities
Independently plan, schedule and lead cross-functional team in detailed phases of the Quality work in a project
Maintain a high level of expertise in current regulatory requirements
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications for this Role:
Must have experience or advanced training and demonstrate proficiency in statistical methods
Completely proficient in relevant products or process development processes
Strong interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills
Good project management skills
Extensive cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work
Ability to diagnose problems and recommend solutions in assigned project
Duties may require work outside regular business hours

Education and Experience
Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering (discipline: electrical / mechanical / biomedical)
4-8 years recent relevant experience in the medical device industry.
Previous experience working with Electronmechanical IV pumps or syringe pumps, preferred.
Demonstrated success in delivering results on technical/product/Quality challenges
Experience in design control and strong knowledge of DHF and configuration management
Working knowledge of medical device international standards
Working knowledge of problem solving and statistical methods as applied to process and product quality preferred
Product development experience pertaining to electromechanical devices preferred
Software: Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), Minitab, Word, PowerPoint, Trackwise 8 (change control / compliant), & TCU

Interview Platform: phone followed by onsite interviews (30 minutes each individual interviewer)

With supervision, performs sustaining engineering activities on current product packaging and packaging processes with priorities based on quality and compliance, continuity of supply, and cost savings initiatives. When applicable, will support new product development teams by acting as an extended team member to provide the design, development and verification testing of new product packaging and assist the manufacturing plants in qualification of new packaging processes.This position applies an understanding of theories/practices utilized in the field of packaging.Primary products to be supported/packaged are flexible IV solution containers ranging from 25mL to 6L in size, glass vials/bottles, and a variety of sterile and sterile fluid path disposable sets/devices.The position will include exposure to several types of packaging materials and processes including flexible and rigid films, HDPE and foil pouches, corrugated design and protective packaging, thermoforming, flow-wrap, form/fill/seal, printing technologies and other related packaging processes.The position will require travel to the manufacturing plants and packaging suppliers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Contribute to and/or lead the planning and execution of packaging projects for a variety of project types including Quality/CAPA, Regulatory Compliance, Supplier Notices of Change, Cost Savings, and New Product Introductions at various domestic and international manufacturing facilities. * Support standard packaging projects and be required to effectively work on multiple projects with assistance and supervision. May work on a large scale program or several smaller projects. * Develop protocols for testing and engage in Change Control activities interfacing with multiple functional groups, including manufacturing plants and suppliers in a team environment to execute packaging changes. * Study and recommend materials/techniques to improve and/or cost reduce existing products/processes, investigating new sources for packaging materials. * Create packaging material specifications, associated drawings, and packaging procedural specifications to provide the required technical information necessary to support the product/packaging configuration. * Collaborates with cross-functional team supporting packaging projects to achieved project objectives and milestones. * Utilize engineering tools to solve straightforward packaging problems (e.g. FMEA, Design of Experiments, A3). Qualifications * Must have experience or training with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in packaging materials and processes, and some exposure to problem analysis and resolution, statistical methods, and design of experiment * Understand the concept and associated stages of change control required to execute packaging projects. * Successful track record of executing packaging projects possessing a sense of urgency and commitment to meet project milestones to ensure manufacturing plants and R&D teams achieve targeted goals. * Cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work. * Embrace Lean Principals and utilize concepts such as standard work to drive continuous improvement. * Ability to organize and present technical and project management overviews with assistance.
