Overview

Interpret contract specifications, develop and implement procedures to meet quality assurance requirements. Plans, schedules, conducts, or corrdinates detailed phases of the engineering work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Inspection procedures

  • Check lists and instructions for inspectors

  • Ensure quality specifications are met by engineering, manufacturing and other involved functions

  • Develop inspection procedures and quality acceptance standards

  • Develop and assist in implementing testing procedures and in analyzing and interpreting test results

  • Assist in development of inspection training programs and training of inspection personnel

  • Coordinate all Quality Engineering activity on a given program. May require interface with all entities of program

  • Assist and support inspectors, technicians and production personnel

  • Conduct statistical analysis and review

  • Provide quality input and date for bid and proposal efforts

  • Lead and direct SPC activity

  • Assist in the design of gauge and test equipment

  • Recommend and assist in the preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests for quality related capital equipment

  • Perform supplier or vendor source inspections as needed

  • Perform all functions of Quality Engineer

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Quality or Technologies

  • 5-8 years applicable Quality Engineering experience

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers

  • Ability to calculate figures, and amounts and apply basic concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Capability of defining problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and communicate recommendations effectively with others

  • Capability of interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • Ability to collect and interpret intonation, apply criteria and make recommendations

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of personnel

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed
