The Cadence Bank's Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Department is an essential element of the overall risk management function. Regulatory complexity, the Board of Directors' risk appetite, and the diverse circumstances encountered to support our various financial products create a complex profile. The GRC is a vital part of the Bank's overall "Risk Reduction Strategy." The Operations Sr. Quality Assurance, will aid in effectively managing and overseeing operational risk while promoting a strong culture of risk mitigation across the Bank. This position will be responsible for knowing and complying with the Bank's Operational Risk Management (ORM) Framework and contribute to developing guidelines for identifying, assessing, controlling, measuring, monitoring, and reporting Operational Risks in operations.

This candidate will support the Bank's "First Line of Defense" in ORM by performing the following:

  • Partnering with the Lines of Business Directors (LOB's) to develop policies, procedures, and controls for regulations that impact their areas.

  • Collaborate with both Compliance and our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) partners to develop corrective action plans to remediate compliance findings and or external audits.

  • Performing "On-going" Operational Control Testing and Remediation

  • Distribute Operational Risk Management (ORM) Reporting for Bank Operations.

  • Work with LOB's and Process Owners (at the Director Level) to develop and execute Remediation Plans for any failed control test

  • Perform maintenance and testing requirements under the Bank Operations for the accuracy of Metric calculations, supporting documentation, and maintaining records

  • Frequently trouble-shoot moderate to complex issues, requiring analytical and critical thinking skills and perform job duties in a manner that reflects Cadence's core values

Expectations:

  • Capable of communicating with all levels of management, in-house legal staff and the s regulators.

  • Maintain a high degree of regulatory knowledge related to Fair Lending Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), UDAAP, Complaint Management

  • Stay informed of industry issues and trends (e.g., Compliance Testing and Monitoring)

  • Manage day-to-day interactions and relationships, multiple projects, and deadlines

  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures and the analysis of risk assessments

Additional Job Duties:

  • Work with various Bank Operations Managers and LOB leaders to review and update the Risk and Control Inventories as required by Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

  • Perform root cause analysis to Identify and communicate process/procedure improvement opportunities to management for Controls requiring remediation

  • Maintain accurate Risk and Inventory records in the Global-IT Risk Manager system and standard Control Test Plans.

  • Prepare and distribute reports on Operational Risk issues, Ops Risk Scorecard for Bank Operations, and monthly Key Risk Indicator reporting for Bank Operations.

  • Provide frequent communication and escalation to appropriate employees and management on any aged operational risk issues.

  • Develop and Execute testing routines related to Key Controls in Ops (Sarbanes-Oxley)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Graduate degree or CRCM is a plus). Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Banking experience in a Compliance role, Operational Risk Mngt. , Enterprise Risk Mngt., or Consulting Firm for Banks, mays substitute for a bachelor's degree.

  • Experience and working knowledge of Bank Regulatory and Financial Reporting requirements and Operational Risk Management disciplines.

  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently, strong organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of operational risks and controls

  • Proactive problem solver with an ability to communicate clearly and with confidence to all associate levels

  • Excellent judgment

  • Results oriented and detail driven individual with excellent judgement

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with Word, Excel, etc.
