Location: San Diego, CA

Webroot an Opentext company is seeking a Sr. QA Engineer with experience in testing enterprise application running on Windows and Linux across the WAN. In this position you will be an integral part of product release for Webroot' s numerous cutting edge Web Security applications and services. You will get the opportunity to work with our team of talented engineers to facilitate development and testing of the next generation of our Threat Intelligence applications and server backend.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in all aspects of product delivery, including review of user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications

  • Interpret product specifications and develop comprehensive test design/plan to perform functional and load testing

  • Perform the required tests to validate the feature's functionalities and performance, and communicate the progress to the team.

  • Develop automated test script to stream the tests efforts.

  • Configure and maintain testing environment being used by the team for testing

  • Develop automated tests scripts, and develop test tools and application that will help with the delivering of the product.

  • Working together with other teams to deliver the team goals and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem solving skills

  • Experience in testing N-Tire enterprise applications/services across internet

  • Experience in one or more programing/script language (e.g. C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Shell Script, Batch, Python, Perl, etc.)

  • Experience testing web service and technologies being used with web services (e.g. REST and JSON, XML, HTTP, Web Server, etc.)

  • Good understanding in how Internet traffic works, and the network protocol (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP) being in enterprise/WAN environment

  • Verify strong understanding of relational databases, and ability to write complex SQL statement

  • Working knowledge of the general Web security landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

  • Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle

  • Good understand of Windows and Linux Operating Systems, that is, able to install and configure a new system when required.

  • Very adaptive to fast changing environment, willing and able to acquire new skillset as required

  • Able to communicate affectively among team with a wide range of technical backgrounds and experiences

  • Degree in Computer Science or relate field

NOT REQUIRED, BUT NICE TO HAVE

  • Shell/batch scripting in Linux environment

  • Good understand in virtualization system like AWS

  • Knowledge of tools: source control (Perforce/GIT), agile technologies (Rally/Scrum)
