UFG is seeking a talented Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join our growing organization. This role will Plans, designs, executes and reports on test scripts to ensure high quality data solution. Additionally this position will be working with our Data Analytics team and will be testing ETL/Data Warehouse/BI platforms. This position will execute tests to ensure that all software enhancements meet or exceed design specifications and performance standards. The analyst will be responsible for identifying, documenting and reporting software defects.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Data/Business Analyst to understand and clarify requirements to ensure adequate test coverage with appropriate test plans/cases

  • Review SOW or SRS attached to the project

  • Define test plan and create testing matrix as needed

  • Executes test plans

  • Assists in the creation of test analysis and reporting, defect trends, defect reoccurrence and overall system stability assessment

  • Build test cases as described by the test plans

  • Describe bugs or missed functionality so the software developers can provide fixes.

  • Provide documentation to Users so that UAT approval can be obtained.

  • Provide feedback to the vendors regarding testing results

  • Actively participate in status meetings.

  • Help set project goals, dates and deadlines

  • Act as a resource to field questions from users

  • Provide bi-monthly project status reports to QA Manager

  • Keep QA Manager informed of issues as they arise

  • Regularly review technology periodicals to stay current on new trends.

  • Working closely with business information users to identify and forecast new business needs.

Qualifications

  • Two-year college degree preferred

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the following: IT Quality Assurance, Software Testing, Test Plan Development and Test Script/Matrix Development

  • Experience working with relational data models

  • Understanding of XML

  • Advance SQL and basic knowledge of PLSQL (creating Stored procedures and functions)

  • Traditional ETL process knowledge to the ELT (extract, load, transform) process for data

  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail along with possessing strong analytical skills

  • Familiarity with reporting applications such as Cognos.

  • Certified or working towards CSTE, CSQA or comparable certification preferred.

This position is responsible for working closely with engineering teams to provide quality-focused technical and process oversight of product developments throughout their lifecycle. Job Responsibilities With the guidance from the Design Assurance team and your leadership, the process analyst will: * Plan and perform proactive, ongoing assessments to determine the quality health of engineering projects using objective criteria and known best practices * Analyze project health data for identification and communication of trends and systemic issues. * Employ methods such as root cause analysis to develop recommended corrective actions and process improvements. * Provide guidance to engineering teams as needed in the areas of process and regulatory requirements to ensure effective project execution. * Help to assure a proactive, healthy relationship within the DAC team and the development teams we support * Perform audits and work with Engineering and DAC teams to resolve quality and civil certification related compliance issues * Assist with engineering project planning activities to ensure plans account for program requirements and past lessons learned, with emphasis on civil certification and quality management system objectives * Advise project teams and leadership of design quality trends and systemic issues, and of working with others to investigate, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions to deliver high quality designs Basic Qualifications * Familiarity with engineering design processes * Experience creating and following a documented development process with emphasis on working knowledge and demonstrated application of DO-178B/C projects (or equivalent) * A proven track record of meeting commitments while supporting multiple simultaneous projects * Must possess a strong attention to detail and apply insightful judgment in order to properly assure compliance and assess necessary quality related improvements – focus on what is most important for positive outcomes. * Ability to work autonomously with an inquisitive approach on assigned tasks while not hesitating to ask for help or support on issues you cannot control * An ability to establish rapport and influence positive outcomes with all levels of the organization and external customers * Ability to influence others towards positive outcomes and foster adoption of value added improvements.
