The Role
The successful candidate will operate within the QC Lab and will be responsible for analytical testing of samples drawn from raw materials as well as throughout the entire production process to the finished products and troubleshooting of lab instrumentations. This role will support our overnight operations. Must be able to work 9:00pm

Key responsibilities for this role include:
Conducts wide variety of laboratory procedures; performs challenging and detail orientated lab work in QC/QA lab.
Completes high volume of work with limited supervision.
Tests products and materials; produces compounds; records findings; operates lab equipment; develops new chemical processes and analyzes data.
Maintains a clean, professional, and safe working laboratory environment including instruments.
Performs automated and manual tests strictly according to approved procedures and methodology.
Focuses on quality and integrity of samples in accordance with strict purity guidelines.
Monitors product quality through testing
Utilizes automated analyzers; maintains equipment as appropriate.
Maintains a high level of customer service and a team environment with QC Lab and Site members.
Participates in and completes all assigned training programs.
Schedules workload efficiently; verifies all necessary tests are completed in a timely manner.
Ensures all SOP's and Quality Control Procedures are followed.
Ensures Quality Assurance on supporting laboratory equipment is conducted regularly.
Acts as the data gatekeeper for the lab-ensuring that all data that leaves the lab is as accurate and precise as analytically possible via efficient and timely QC data entry.
Functions as team leader for other team members as necessary
Assumes delegated responsibilities of Supervisor in his or her absence as requested.
Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EH&S principles and values; champions safety as necessary.
Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position.
REQUIREMENTS
BS in Chemistry or related field required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lab environment required
Ability to complete assignments without supervision
Must be able to work 9:00pm
Experience in standard laboratory practices; prior exposure to concepts of quality assurance and quality control in lab environment; technically versed with good mechanical troubleshooting skills
Solid mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and long division; ability to work with fractions and perform various mathematical conversions commonly used in chemical industry/lab environment
Instrumentation experience preferred with tools such as ICP/MS, GC/MS, UV-Vis, GC/FID/TCD, IC, HPLC, GFAA, ICP/OES, or liquid particle counters
Knowledge of LIMS practices and procedures
Flexibility to change plans/duties as required to support dynamic business needs.
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet programs and applications
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
MENTAL & EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
PAY RANGE: The pay range for this role is estimated at 36.06/hr.-40.87/hr. with actual wage based on candidate's qualifications and experience.
