Project Manager, PMP


FI Consulting is seeking a full-time Sr. Project Manager to work in the Federal Defense Accounting space in our Arlington, VA Headquarters and throughout the Metro DC area on client projects.

The right candidate will partner with client and staff of all levels to understand issues and needs to work to solve them through the development of specific analytical tools

We are looking for someone to manage an IT implementation project. The right candidate will have experience leading large IT software implementations in on-premises and cloud environments.

They will be able to clearly communicate complex, technical concepts to both technical and non-technical clients. They will be able to plan and execute project tasks using their PMP certification experience and knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, or applicable quantitative or technical field.

  • Six or more years of IT management experience, with responsibilities that include leading teams, delivering analytical results, and managing relationships with stakeholders

  • Experience with US Department of Defense Finance and Accounting

  • Experience with improper payment detection

  • Security Clearance Level: U.S. Citizen

Preferred skills:

  • Have 10 or more years of relevant work experience with consulting in a corporate or government environment

  • Strong analytical background with fraud experience

  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality work

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex data and business processes and able to communicate findings in a clear, concise manner that builds trust and confidence with our clients

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project

  • Knowledge/experience with SAS software and ability to obtain relevant certifications

Amazon is seeking a Sr. U.S. Immigration Project Specialist to support the needs of our growing organization. This Seattle-based leadership role will manage and administer processes and filing strategies to ensure best practices for Amazon's NIV filings, including H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, O-1, L-1. This role will partner closely with Amazon's HR Risk and Compliance team and Legal to create and inspect policies and practices to ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Labor requirements, which could include LCA posting and PAF creation/maintenance and consistent use of SOC codes and wage levels (for NIV and IV filings). This will require careful monitoring of related factors, and the reporting of findings and improvement proposals, and close collaboration with the different lines of business to be sure you understand their goals and processes. You will work with the team's leadership to ensure that your unique skills are effectively contributing to the larger goals of the team, ultimately helping Amazon retain top global talent to drive new levels of innovation. Responsibilities include: * Act as the single threaded owner on the Global Immigration Team to ensure compliance with NIV processes (heavy focus on H-1B) and IV processes (PERM) providing education to the business and employees, implementing controls with immigration service providers, reviewing practices and petition filings and presenting findings to HR Risk and Compliance, Legal and Immigration leadership * Review immigration service providers' processes to identify concerns which could lead to process compliance issues, including how and when entity, role, and worksite locations are validated and recommending changes when appropriate * Create onsite inspection protocols with HR Risk and Compliance, Legal, and Eligibility to Work teams to document processes to follow for FDNS inspections and DOL audits, and test and train for preparedness * Monitor adjudications trends and outcomes and recommend filing strategies * Review, document, and present findings on process obligations in other areas such as H-1B and O-1 return transportation; PERM compliance, including RIF scenarios * Work with senior leadership within the Immigration, Legal, Public Policy, PR, HR Risk and Compliance, Eligibility to Work teams to review and understand impact of immigration policy changes and develop associated processes or filing strategies as needed * Mentor other Immigration Specialists on the larger team, particularly in effective controls, guidelines, and compliance practices and provide stretch opportunities where appropriate based on interest/skill Preferred work locations of Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA or current local candidates within New York, NY.
